What a relief to just not "feel" my stomach anymore. My doctor recommended Nexium because I had tried Prilosec and Tagamet and Zantac with no relief. One caveat -- Nexium can cause muscle spasms, and I get some pain from that in my calves. However, someone clued me in to use almonds for cramp relief, and since I like almonds I've done that and it's better. DON'T BUY THESE PRESCRIPTION. It was going to cost $200, but fortunately the pharmacist pointed out that they are over-the-counter now for about 10% of that price. ADDENDUM: Be careful of extended use, more than a couple of months. I ended up with pretty severe leg cramping, enough to keep me awake at night.

I didn't even know about this until an ad from Amazon as i have no idea why there was even one but that is how i came across this product. Quick back story as i have bee diagnosed with GERD and have frequent heartburn and burp constantly so my doctor put me on Esomeprazole for 2 months and seemed to help very well. As my prescription was running out i didn't know what to do as i went back to my doctor and told me that he wasn't able to give me anymore so he told me if i wanted to take more i should take something OTC. I tired a few such as Zantac, Pepcid, and another one that i am unable to remember but nothing seemed to help. Until i found this like i said from an ad online, absolutely i could not find this in Canada as I am located in Canada and unfortunately Canada doesn't allow these to be sold OTC and only available by prescription so i had to find it in the states. I looked at EVERY seller on Amazon and found this one to be the only one that shipped to Canada and didn't even know about how many bottles this came with but it doesn't matter as i probably won't take them all but nice to have around. Don't focus on that i am from Canada, but the product itself. There is three bottles in each pack and comes with two packs and each bottle as 14 pills (for a 14 day treatment). After receiving them, i took one the next morning. I really couldn't review based off of one day so i waited until i was done the 14 day treatment so i could give on honest review and let me start off saying WOW. I just wanted to say thank you now as this really helped me, as i finished the treatment of 14 days i could say i do feel better . It helped with my heartburn and wasn't burping so much anymore. A little while after though, i did notice symptoms did return so i started another treatment so see if that would help and it does kind of help but i think now that my body has adjusted to it that it doesn't seem to be working to it's fullest as it was when i started taking them so i tried another 14 days and see how it goes. As for the prescription vs the OTC one they are virtually the same. Here in Canada the prescription one costs about $20 while coverage so it is not that expensive but a doctor has to administer it as a prescription and a lot of doctors don't administer these to just anybody if you know what i mean so they can be hard to get but now as there have been more and more OTC heartburn medications there isn't a need for a doctor but unfortunately like i said these have yet to be in Canada that is why i am here. Update: After about another 4 weeks of taking these i can say that these appear to be help "a little" bit. I do not seem to have much symptoms anymore but come back once in a while. After i finish taking the last of the 3 i have left i am going to stop taking them to see what happens and see if anything improves or not as i don't want to have the side effects of what i hear others say so i going to do some experimenting. As for the drug itself and others looking at it i would say 100% try this as this could be the relief your looking for regardless as i am in Canada or not. I would say that this has been a success regardless of my experience as i hope someone else can get relief.

My insurance company will no longer pay for my big brand name medication for GERD’s. Nexium 24HR TABLETS (not capsules) are very similar to the expensive big brand name meds and are the only OTC’s that work for me!!

Excellent product. Very good value. I have ordered this item multiple times and will continue to do so. I would recommend this item.

I’ve tried Prilosec, generic Nexium, as well as a very expensive prescription and the branded Nexium is the only thing that works for mild reflux. My habitual clearing my throat has gone away. If you have similar symptoms, I would give this a try now that it is sold over-the-counter.
