Can i use on dry hair?

You can, but they work better if your hair is just a little damp

Are these acceptable to use for perms?

I've used them to perm my hair and the curls looked gorgeous

My hair is to the small of my back and very straight. Medium thick? Would these work to curl it? I’ve never seen my hair curly before and am curious.

They will make lots of curls. My hair is about the same length and also straight. I tried these and didn't care for them. I am back to foam rollers. I set my hair while it is slightly damp, almost dry and I get plenty of curl.
