Stanley FMHT33865S FATMAX 25' Magnetic Tape

As usual, Stanley makes a great tool. I had an old Stanley tape that was likely 25 years old and I'd let get a bit rusty as well as dropped some things on the ruler itself, so it was time to replace. Considering how long these Stanley products last, I'm surprised they don't charge more. I really like how well this model allows you to extend the tape in the air without folding. My old tape eventually deformed a bit where I'd accidentally extend it more than the weight would allow and cause a crease in it. There are times when you just need to measure 10' or so and being able to stand there and get a rough measure is awesome. The spring is working great. I've had some cheap tapes that you had to help feed back in over time. So far, this one is working well and I expect it to hold up to my abuse for many years. The magnet on the end of the tape was a bit new to me. Surprisingly, I've found it helpful a few times as it can attach to a large nail or metal object and hold pretty good. I've tried to abuse it a bit to see if comes off accidentally and had no issues with it yet. Overall, this is a great tape measure for a very reasonable price. Considering how well Stanley products generally hold up, it's an easy sell.

My husband loves this new tape measure I bought him. He was using an older one that was broken down the middle. I got him this one and he appreciates the clear numbers, sturdy tape, and most of all the magnet on the end to keep the tape in place. Size is average to other 25’ tapes and accurate. All features work as advertised. Very happy with this product!

Great! strong tape, and magnet.

Good tape measure. Holds up great, I’ve dropped it off a few lifts maybe as high as 20ft and it still works

I’m an electrician and I can’t leave home without this. Most of my commercial work is with metal studs. The magnet on the tape allows me to quickly measure my conduit quickly. Solid tape that last a long time. I often use the tape to pick up dropped fittings and hardware from on top of my ladder using the magnet. Love it.

There expensive. But well worth the money when it comes to a magnetic tape measure. Has a long reach before folding over & a strong magnet.

Solid measuring tape, extends far out and doesn't curl up if on the ground, magnet is good and bad, great when you want to hold against something and measure, annoying when you want to measure past some metal and it keeps jumping to metal

I like the magnet 🧲 on it and l use it for all my construction projects .

I bought this because I couldn't find the magnetic version in local stores. I like the fact that the magnet feels strong like a rare earth magnet, and it's secure to the tape. I also like the way fatmax tapes can extend pretty far without falling and the large print measurements for when you're reading stuff far away. The 25' will only be obtainable if you're really slowly extending it though, and not sideways.

Can extend upto and over 11 feet without bending. If using the magnet can extend even further. Suggested for every day use.

Works great for awhile, but every so often the magnet pops off and you have to clip it back on. Dab of super glue fixed it up.

Expected more sturdiness.
