Absolutely yummy to me! And great shipping care!
Updating this review to express great appreciation for the insulated packaging which allowed product to be delivered intact (not a melted mess) in our RARE 75 degree weather in San Francisco. And as stated in earlier review, I LOVE this product! Thanks!!Must be personal preference, but I absolutely LOVE this Mocha Hot Chocolate bar. The "mocha" (um, coffee) is awesomely strong, just the way I like my black coffee drink. (Since I drink decaf coffee, the flavor is key for me, otherwise it's just brown water.) And I don't understand reviewers' comments about lack of "Hot Cocoa" flavor. This IS a chocolate bar after all; isn't a hot cocoa drink basically a chocolate drink? (Hence this is your cocoa drink in bar form, right?) But to each his/her own. I absolutely love it. I've tried other flavors and this is my favorite. Bought a 12-pack after trying one bar bought separately. My only concern is how much caffeine is in a serving or bar. So I've emailed Lily's directly to inquire about that. Hope they respond. I'm just sensitive to caffeine, and a little can affect my sleep. But timed, strategically, I plan to enjoy this big time—as I already am! And yes, the bar has the "gritty" bits of coffee beans (I guess that's what they are). But I like it, and it adds to MY enjoyment, anyway, the way nut bits might be in certain chocolate bars. Lastly, if you like dark chocolate covered espresso beans, you'd probably like this. It's a bar variation of that. Cheers!

Mocha Hot Cocoa Extra Dark Chocolate bar tastes dry and stale!
I love Lily chocolate bars. The selection inside Whole Foods has decreased so when I saw an online sale of Lily “Mocha Hot Cocoa Extra Dark Chocolate bars, I bought a twelve-pack box. This was a mistake. This product is not equal to other Lily products. The texture is dry. The flavor is weak. The texture of lily’s Coconut Dark Chocolate bars, 55% cocoa, is the smoothest because of the coconut milk fat, as well as the lower cocoa content. The Almond Dark Chocolate bars are also 55% cocoa and have a fabulous smooth texture. But the Extremely Dark Chocolate bars are 85% cocoa and have a great, smooth texture. So what’s up with the Mocha Hot Cocoa extra dark chocolate bars? I think have concluded are old and have been stored improperly. The expiration on the label says 020624AC. This would indicate a pull date of Feb. 6, 2024, two months from now.Bottom line, don’t buy this flavor even if you love mocha! You will be disappointed. Also, it’s better to buy your Lily bars inside a Whole Foods.

Disappointed this flavor has caffeine!
I like Lily's brand, and these bars are not bad. However, I did not read the ingredients carefully enough; this flavor contains coffee. I typically do not like added coffee or caffeine in snacks/chocolate etc. I made a mistake with this one because I liked the packaging and overlooked the details!

A bit disappointing...but redeemable
I love most of the Lily's chocolates on offer so when I saw the Mocha I was excited to try it.This is a very brittle, very "dry", and very gritty (from coffee grounds) bar. Almost a waxy mouthfeel to me. It wasn't very pleasant to eat right out of the package. However, it made a heavenly ganache that made absolutely lovely truffles. I used heated a bit of canned coconut milk and melted the chocolate into that, added a tiny bit more vanilla and stevia, and mix/mix/mix then let it set up. Rolled some into balls coated with cocoa powder and made molded filled chocolates with the rest (the outer shells made with regular Lily's Dark)

Soon to expire, grainy, but nice jolt
I should have realized that the price was so cheap as they are about to expire. I don’t think I would have bought so many if I had known. The texture is rather grainy, but it’s tasty and gives me a pleasant lift. They are starting to get a white bloom on them so they are past their prime, but I’m glad Lillys created these.

Bad product, don't buy
I bought these because there was a lower price from other Lily's chocolate bars. They were inedible. The color was grayer than other chocolates by the same manufacturer and tasted awful. I don't know if it was just the new flavor I bought, or if they were extremely old and should have been pulled off the shelf. Very disappointing, a waste of money. I usually like this brand because it's always been good quality. I won't buy anything at a discounted price again.
