I give this 4 stars because the writing pad side is very light, not bright like in the product picture. The calculator is decent and has an off button. Wish it came with instructions on how to use it for powers, fractions, etc. It comes with a stylus that fits in the back.

I bought this calculator mainly because of the LCD writing pad, and it has been incredibly useful. I often need to jot down quick notes or do simple calculations while I'm on the phone or working in the office. I used to use sticky notes for everything, which was messy and wasteful. Now I have a convenient place to write without wasting paper. The writing experience feels natural, and while the screen contrast isn't very strong, it's understandable since there's no backlight to help preserve battery life. I also love the red color, it looks stylish and makes the calculator stand out from the usual plain designs.

The writing feature lowkey sucks because it’s incredibly hard to see. It’s most visible with low light which isn’t helpful in most situations… I also wish this calculator could flip and fold backwards so that I could hold it with one hand comfortably and use just the calculator portion.

I love the writing tab on the side, this calculator has all the functions you could need - I got it for carpentry school and it helped a lot trying to find area and volume for concrete forms especially when I could draw the plans on the chalkboard side

Nice calculator and a good deal at 30 percent off. Only complaint is that the writing pad is far dimmer than shown in the photos. The "brightness" is very low and the line thickness is very light, leading to the notes being barely visible. I wouldn't recommend paying extra for this feature but considering the price is in particular with other similar calculators, it's OK to get it for free.
