If You Like Burnt Stew Don’t Buy This
Absolutely perfect! No more burnt stews or rice. Just great for any food that requires a long simmer on a gas range. Highly recommended.

So far so good
Note: I have only used this product twice and have had it for less than a week.Pros:It works. I don't really know how, but it does. It's lightweight.I put it in the dishwasher prior to using and it didn't rust or fall apart. The handle can be removed and didn't seem to get too hot while cooking.Cons:It became a rustic color after using it that reminded me of the campfire sandwich makers you stick right into the fire. This isn't necessarily the bad part. I just worry that it looks like it may become too brittle over time.I am posting pictures of it in action so please take a look.I bought it to use with my new stainless steal cookware. I had already gotten a burn spot in one of the skillets right off the bat. So I was afraid to cook, knowing my gas flame isn't trustworthy and my new cookware could scorch beyond repair.I used my Tamer on the same skillet that had the "spot" which I heard will burn food in that spot every time no matter what. Well, no reburning only good stable cooking. It did take longer to cook than I normally would but at least I didn't ruin my pan.I definitely recommend. Gave four stars because I could see this as an investment I'll have to keep making if it doesn't hold up over time.**Update***October 11, 2012It's still holding up. Still tames the flame. I found a second type at an estate sale that a bit older and a little sturdier. It has a stiff wooden handle.I haven't used this one a lot and have NOT put it back in the dishwasher again. But would still recommend for stainless-steel cookware

Works well. Fits well on my gas stove. I like it so much, I just ordered another one, for my other burner.

Handy Kitchen Tool
I got this diffuser to use with my new Omnia oven to help moderate the heat and keep food from getting scorched. It's worked perfectly for that. The folding handle will help me carry it camping, which is the main reason I got it and the Omnia. They're the perfect pair.

Meh. It works but not stainless steel.
I bought this to use with a clay comal on my cooktop stove so it wouldn't scratch the surface. It does the trick in terms of heating without scratching, but as others have pointed out, it's not stainless steel. It became discolored after a week or two and after I washed it, it rusted. I wish Amazon would make the seller take off the "stainless steel" label. I understand it's cheap, but they can't claim it's stainless steel when it stains and rusts.
