What happened to the pad from 2005?!
I was given a Patemm pad when I had my little girl 13 years ago. I loved it so much I actually still have it in a drawer in my house. It was my favorite shower gift! I knew I wanted to buy it for someone else special when the time came. The time has come (grandchild from my oldest) and I ordered the pad. The new pad is NOT HARD/PADDED VINYL-like material like mine is and that's exactly why I wanted to order it (aside from it's size). I could lay the old pad down on wet cement and place my child on it knowing no moisture would get to her. And the wipe down factor when my kid had a diaper blowout was the best! When I was out and about and that would happen I could take a diaper wipe and wipe it down and my diaper bag did not have to smell like dirty diaper!! I cannot believe they changed that!!!! (the new one would have to be machine washed) The new pad is about an inch smaller in diameter but still large. But that makes the pockets slightly smaller. It's just a completely different product than it was. It's still pretty and it's still large but it is definitely not what I wanted and what I thought I ordered.

The best pad for traveling
I have a very alert and finicky 5 month old. It took me a couple of months to figure out that the reason she screamed and cried so much when I changed her diaper in public places was because the pads typically found in diaper bags or for general transport are thin, small and not as cushy or comfortable or large as her fancy changing pad at home. The Patemm Pad came to the rescue! I had bought it - based on the reviews her on Amazon - prior to my daughter's birth, but just had never used it because it is bigger and bulkier (by comparison only) than the thin little, thin rectangle pads that come with a diaper bag or that say, Skip Hop, sells. However, I decided to use for a trip to Hawaii where I would have my 4 month old on 10+ hour flights. On the flight there, we used the nasty little changing table in the airplane bathroom. The Patemm Pad not only covered the top of the table, but also the sides, so that my daughter was never touching (with her arms, hands or legs), the walls above the toilet. Because the pad was able to go up the sides of the wall, my daughter also felt safer, as if cocooned on the table, and she never cried, despite something close to 12 diaper changes on that flight alone. And because the pad is padded, my daughter felt very comfortable (I placed a pack of dry wipes in one of the pockets and placed her head on top of that pocket, so that she had a extra pillow cushion for her head). On the flight back home, there was NO CHANGING TABLE on the plane. Argh! Again, Patemm Pad rescued me because due to the largess of the pad, I was able to use the floor of the bathroom (again, nasty!) and never feel that my daughter was in danger of even come close to touching the bare floor. The coating on the outside of the pad wipes down easily with antibacterial wipes. The Patemm Pad is now my go to pad for all trips, no be it to the grocery store down the street or halfway across the world. It's a great invention and a really high quality product that is well worth the money. Also, as an fyi, I have ordered some of the Patemm Pad accessories from the Patemm Pad website [...]. Customer service (really, the owner of the company) is awesome, answered my questions really promptly multiple times over the weekend, sent the items to me very quickly and even gave me - without prompting - a coupon code for a discount off of all of their products. I love supporting small American business, women-mom entrepreneurs and companies that make their products in the USA.

Great gift and *VERY* useful
I loved this for my baby and have either given or convinced people to buy this diaper pad 5 times since! It makes a great gift for the first time mom and everyone who has used it for their infant loves it. For the mom who is strictly breastfeeding it is such an efficient way to carry your infant necessities. The pad itself can be easily used one-handed - very convenient when you're carrying your baby in your other arm. Also makes a great cover for those gross, germy baby changing stations when you are out of the house. You don't have to worry about putting your baby down on some other baby's yuck. And it's also great for the those bathroom or places that don't have a changing area. You can easily set up your baby on the floor or some other flat area and have a full changing station. Plus my friends and I have used them as play areas when you have to put your baby down at the beach or park. (We just make sure the clean the outside a little more frequently if we are doing that.)The pockets are large enough and plentiful enough to carry wipes, diapers, changes of clothes and other things that can be flat. No matter how you fold it you always have a carrying handle - so easy!!!! And if you want a diaper bag because you are carrying bottles or whatever else, it's easy to transfer the patemm from bag to bag (Daddy's bag, to nanny's bag, to mom's, etc.)I like it more than the smaller SkipHop. Yes it's bulkier, but you get more use out of it. And when your baby is a little squirmy you really appreciate the bigger pad. Get this one if you are getting only one traveling diaper case - I love this one!

So wanted to love this, especially for the price. Not in love.
this came HIGHLY recommended by a friend and she's super picky. I was prepared to fall in love until my baby peed while being changed (uh, she does that, a lot) and it completely soaked through to my friend's couch. THAT really sucked as my friend is not a mom and her level of tolerance for an accident I didn't think would happen not so good. I can't use this at all as a changing pad. I only use it for on-the-go monitored tummy time. For the price I'm super disappointed. The good, great unisex design and soft. Wouldn't buy again or recommend as a changing pad.Oh but I do like the little pockets on the sides for storing things and the way it folds. Just wish it worked.
