Caffe Borbone ESE Coffee Pods, Miscela Nera (100 Pods)

Thus far have tried Illy Espresso Pods, the Caffe Borbone in blue, and now these in black - by far our household favorite are the black (which I believe are a blend of blue and red). Thus far has been the most authentic smooth taste of espresso in the convenient pod form!

My espresso machine had been clogging - probably because of a bad grind. Being frustrated and irritable from a lack of coffee, I decided to fever these pods a try. I had high hopes because of the high rating, so I decided to just go ahead and order the most economical option, the 150 pack. After giving them a try this morning though, I can verify that in fact, coffee pods are terrible, even when they're good. Obviously they are much more convenient than ground espresso - no muss, no fuss. But the taste just doesn't compare. Espresso from these pods was watery and lacked the flavor of fresh coffee. I guess I'll just have to fix my machine and save these pods for guests who don't know the difference between bad and good espresso.
