I am not going to lie, it was tremendously frustrating. Not because of the Spindle or the controller, but trying to make everything fit and be compatible. Here is a list, so if you are considering it, you are armed beforehand. I was not able to use the 80mm bracket included with the spindle without modifications, so I broke down and bought the Shapeoko 80mm bracket. Secondly, the dust boot that comes with the Shapeoko will not work. I had to get one from Thingiverse and modify it. I will post it there soon, so you can print one too. So I also needed dust boot brushes, screws, and magnets. The next item, is that the cord is woefully short. So I had to Frankenstein it for now, but it is working. That was the most unacceptable part of this sale, that terrible cable. I previously bought another 2.2 kw spindle on amazon, but stole the VFD for another project. That put me in the place to compare the two spindles. This one is clearly quieter. Thirdly, I had to upgrade the Shapeoko to the HDZ Z axis. But that is where I almost gave up. It was running, but kept being off on the Z axis. Not at the beginning, but slowly over time creeping down. I finally realized the stock HDZ was missing steps. The motor was not up to snuff. Now the machine is working like a champ. The Shapeoko has its quirks, but overall it will do what I need. I definitely recommend this upgrade...
