Yesterday's Thief: An Eric Beckman Paranormal Sci-Fi Thriller: 1 Paperback – 23 Feb. 2016

Just when you don't expect it somebody from the past materialises right before your eyes. Don't you just hate it when that happens. Fortunately, Eric is on hand to pick up a few clues and fall in love with the leading lady. Seriously, what could go wrong?! An entertaining read with great characters and witty writing.

This book could be the intro to a good series of stories. The idea is original and has great promise. A mind reading private eye really ought to be a success but somehow it doesn't work out that way for our hero. His talent seems to be more useful in the hospital environment than in the world of investigations. However, teamed up with a mirror-reversed, cat burglar and a cross dressed PA our our PI hero looks to have something going for him. There are a few issues that have been swept under the carpet but I can live with them. I most certainly don't want to put anyone off purchasing "Yesterday's Thief" because it is a good read. I just felt that it could have been better. Eric Beckman has a great cast of characters and a sense of fun. I look forward to him developing his ideas that bit further in a sequel.

I enjoyed this story very much and found I picked up my Kindle often so I could read more. The sci-if side of it was spine-tingling and slightly creepy, which I liked! Usually I'm not fond of stories in the first person but I did like this and look forward to more from this author.

An enjoyable read.This isn't a genre I usually read, but thought I'd try it as it was free.I found it a very readable and enjoyable romp which allowed me to suspend disbelief while reading.The main characters were very likeable and the author made me care about them.

This is a real page turner. It is a bizarre story but a work of fiction is exactly that; escapism from every day life. Some of the science is believable, some far fetched but all adds to the story. If you enjoy science fiction, or if you like a good read that is a bit different, give it a go, you won't be disappointed. Having read this I recommend reading the short book about the science of this story, it's interesting and fun and allow the author to explain his ideas.

I read the third in the series first and I enjoyed that, so I decided to try the first in the series; it was even better! I don't normally read paranormal books only hard science fiction. To my surprise I found this book believable and entertaining.

When I first came across this book I thought that the sci-fi wouldn't work. Was I wrong!! Dr Eric Beckman and the mysterious woman make the story, amply backed up by the supporting characters (won't spoil it by naming). I hope there are more books.

It's refreshing to have a sci-fi\thriller without a "evil corporation" and that's just a start it's still a bit of an old school detective story with a canny little twist. The characters are fun and the social interactions with mind reading create some nice humorous situations. As for plot well it seems a bit like real life rather than a planned out novel, as in it flows from the characters rather than having a number of set pieces of drama like a movie.....

I very much enjoyed Yesterday's Thief. There was action, time travel, suspense, surprises, romance and fun. There's a detective and a mystery...and the fate of the world. What more could you want in a book? Oh, yes, Eric can read minds! I was always interested in Eric's search and the mystery of Viviana. As with some novels, I found myself eager to find out what was going to happen next while at the same time hoping the book wouldn't end. I'm hoping for a follow-up Eric Beckman novel.

A good mystery which is set in the not too distant future, and has a few laugh out loud moments.A mind reading P.I. with a cross dressing assistant. A naked woman suddenly appearing out of thin air at home plate during a televised baseball game. What else can happen?

Interesting story and engaging characters with some subtle humour added in. Liked the ending and the outcomes for all the characters and the story. I like stories driven by the characters and this is one. Both the male and female lead characters were likeable and interesting.

I enjoyed the author's thinking. The story combines time travel and mind reading. The main characters are fun and likeable. Plot was predictable towards the end but I liked that the story didn't complicate itself with time loops and characters meeting themselves. A light hearted and adventurous Sci fi tale.
