This is a hardwood box, very well made. The top and bottom are a bit thin(⅛"?) and it feels it. The bottom is covered with felt so as NOT to scratch any surface that it's set on. The latch is sturdy and has a cheap lock with pressed keys. In this day and age it's well worth the $50 I paid. It's the 2nd one I've gotten. This brand seems to have Quality workmanship. So many things are being made of bamboo these days, finding hardwood isn't easy, this is heirloom quality. Get one while you still can!! Have a Great day 😎

The box is good looking, sturdy, and a just right, in between size - not too big, not too small. The locking mechanism works, but it is very flimsy and hard to use. Despite that, this is a very nice box.

I bought this to be used to put together a Christmas gift, but plans changed and I ended up returning it. However, later on down the road if I end up needing another similar box, this will 100% be the one I look to.The box is sturdy, packaged carefully and thoroughly, and comes with a lock and 2 keys. The box isn't heavy, but it's got a bit of heft to it (solid and not super cheap). With that being said, this is not some high end luxury kind of box with exotic woods; you're spending $40 and getting that price. If you want luxury, this is not the box for you, but if you want high quality at a good price, you'll be happy here.

It's a good looking wood box. The hinges are decent, the latch/hasp is okay. Great for getting rid of clutter on a countertop or other such visible surface, and that's about it. I like it, but I don't love it... it's just a wooden box for God's sake!

I have given all 4 grandsons this box as a gift. I had their names engraved on a plate by the local trophy shop & they applied the name plate. The boys are using it to put personal items in or whatever they want. They love that it has a lock & key!

Oh I love this box. I purchased it to store tarot decks and I was obsessed with it right out of the box. I don't know if I'll be using the lock much but everything about this box is well made.From the hardware used to the fit and finish of the wood and stain used, it's beautiful.

I purchased this and received a box that had uneven finish and the corners weren’t stained completely. I contacted the company and they sent me a second box for free! Only problem was the second was worse than the first with patched worm holes that were very obvious on the lid. The boxes were made so well but the wood quality is lacking. I would rate this 1 star except that the company tried to set things right.

It is the perfect size for all your small treasures. The paint job on it is flawless. No problem locking it. Very elegant looking piece.

Beautiful wooden box. As depicted/described does have a lock & key which works but it can be easily picked. I purchased it because It is made of wood. I would recommend if you’re not to concerned about the lock.
