Quality of the final product
The media could not be loaded. I recently got my hands on the DF DIGITALFOTO Micolive Microphone Blimp, paired with my trusty Sennheiser MKE 600, for a documentary shoot in the wind-swept landscapes of Shusha, the heart of Karabakh. Let me tell you, this gear combo turned out to be an absolute game-changer!The wind at our shoot location was relentless, but the DF DIGITALFOTO Microphone Blimp, with its Dead Cat, Windshield, and Shock Mount System, was our secret weapon. It shielded my Sennheiser MKE 600 from the gusty winds, ensuring that our audio remained pristine amid the challenging conditions.Assembly was a breeze, and the Dead Cat did an exceptional job in minimizing wind noise, allowing us to focus on our documentary without compromising on audio quality. Now, here's the kicker – despite the windy ordeal, there was a small issue. However, the DF DIGITALFOTO customer service team was quick to respond, addressing the matter promptly and ensuring we could continue our shoot without missing a beat. It's a must-have for filmmakers tackling challenging outdoor conditions. Kudos to DF DIGITALFOTO for creating a product that truly shines in the field.

Does as advertised, use it whenever outdoors ... a great addition to my equipment.

Good enough but a bit flimsy.
This is obviously much cheaper that the more established brands versions but I still think for the price I’d like something a little less flimsy. This being said, it’s light and will do the job.

Great for outdoor audio work!!
The media could not be loaded. I got this blimp for my outdoor audio recordings where using just a dead cat on a shotgun microphone has not been enough to suppress the low rumbling sound of the wind. I have now used this on a couple of jobs and its been excellent. Ok its a fair size and needs some storage room, but it's so worth it with what it changes in your audio production quality. It came with the dead cat which was great as nothing else to buy. It's got an adjustable microphone connection to fit almost all shotgun mics, I have used it with the Rode NTG4+ and Sennheiser MKE-600 shotgun microphones. You can handhold it with the adjustable handle, or connect to a stand or boom with the thread in the handle base, then plug your XLR cable onto the base of the handle and you're good to go!I have included a little video I did to demonstrate how this handles the wind, check it out.

Quality blimp
Is extremely well built with quality materials. Ideal for booming. Only negative the cat is slightly tight to fit but given use will ease fitting.

Absolute must have when recording audio outside.
I'm currently filming a documentary and we have some out side scenes. I've used other brands products in the past and they were ok. This cuts pretty music alll wind noise even if the wind is blowing straight into the mic.It also comes with a dead cat cover which reduces the wind noise even further. It looks like a cheaper version of the Rode Blimp, it defiintely is a cheaper option but they haven't cut any corners to make this cheaper, I even think they've actually improved on the Rode design in places, it's certainly reduces the wind noise more and I love the think XLR cable inside the blimp. I always worried about the rode breaking.Honestly don't look any further, buy this product!

For sound quality, this is a very good piece of equipment
The following is a review of the DF DIGITALFOTO Micolive Blimp. It comes in descriptive box together with a ‘dead cat’ wind shield with fittings to accept the universal XLR audio connections plus an Allen key for adjusting the internal mic fittings plus spare ¼ - 3/8 bushes for the handle base if required. The actual blimp is a honeycomb construction as can be seen; with both ends easily unscrewed to gain access plus a pistol grip with has a thread for attaching to a boom or stand as well as being handheld of course. The ‘dead cat’ is quite a snug to tight fit and once on, you do feel you’ve achieved something but once the initial task of doing that is done, it gets better thereafter as you might not want it on all the while. The 'pistol' grip is adjusted for length from the middle to the end and adjusted by a tripod type large screw - see photos. The mic of choice is held on a ‘sub frame’ within the blimp with a parallel XLR connecter in line so you can basically secure the mic to it, which in turn then exits via the pistol grip which has a corresponding XLR fitting in the grip base - see photos. In use it works well I must admit with speech - or sound in general - coming through loud and clear and it's really only in harsh winds that it gets slightly ‘muffled’ but then you have to expect it to in such extremes anyway. I use ‘over the ear’ headphones with my camcorder to monitor sound as recorded and the difference between this and my usual, microphone maker supplied foam windshield, is on a much higher level altogether. For sound quality this is a very good item.

Plasticy but it does the job
This product does the job but feels plastcy and cheap. The little built in rubber clamp that holds the microphone cable in place broke the first time I used it. I will be interesting to see how long this product will last in my professionally daily use. I dont feel I can put too much trust in it.
