Empfehlenswert!

Useful as a conversation starter, but see the movie first
The chapters are often too short, and the author frequently repeated herself. Some of the theology presented in the book is flawed. The author also was frequently mixed up as to the proper use of "ideal" vs. "idea" throughout the entire book (did a professional editor proofread the book first?). The author more than once accused the character "Clay" of being a legalist. Having watched the movie myself, I disagree with the author's portrayal of Clay as a "legalist." Despite its many flaws, the book was useful as a conversation starter with others. As an aside, if you are a Christian, you need to purchase or rent the movie version. The book is most useful when used after watching the actual movie.

Courting instead of Dating...
This is a a 40-Day exploration of the Old Fashioned Way of courting. I wish this book had been available 30 years ago. This was what I'd endeavored to live but failed miserably because I thought I was being unreasonable, at least that's what everyone told me. I've since learned that those people weren't invested in seeing me healthy or even happy. The book offers an opportunity to reflect and self-analyze what I want for myself, even if I never marry. More importantly, it's realizing that it's never too late to learn and change, to become the type of person I want to be.

Great for Dating
Bought this as it sounded like it would be good for married couples. It is a study guide for singles. Wife and I read some of it, but it is not applicable to married couples.

This is a fabulous companion book to the movie, "Old Fashioned." Ginger Kolbaba did an excellent job in this 40-day devotional which digs deeper into the old fashioned qualities and virtues that the movie touches upon. In 2015, it's time to reaffirm and declare that "yes" old-fashioned love is possible if enough of us start saying "no" to this culture's morals and standards! It's choosing to proudly live counter culturally! Raising the bar! Knowing we deserve more! As Tennyson says, "Love is the only gold!" Highly recommended!
