The original 1000 mile boot is recreated from an archival Wolverine pattern and is America's original work boot. Designed in Rockford, Michigan and handcrafted in the USA, each pair is made with meticulous attention to detail and built to last. Time-tested Goodyear welt construction allows the boots to be resoled for years of wear, and durable horween leather from Chicago gains character over time.

Great boot true to size
I ordered this boot in brown half size smaller as many reviewers suggest. I normally use dress shoes in 10-10.5. I consider my foot wide. I use 10 in wide or big shoes and 10.5 in normal to narrow. I ordered this boot in size 9.5 M. The boot resulted very narrow for my foot and exact in the length with very thin dress socks. I returned the boot and will order it probably in 10W or 10.5 M as I do with all my dress shoes . So I consider this boot run true to size. Especially if planed to be use as a dress shoe with thin socks and without insole. I loved the leathe smell and feel also the shape of the boot was very pleasant for me. The construction is very good. I din't like the flat laces because they look to casual for me and are difficult to pass true the quick lacing sister of the boot in my opinion. I prefere a more classic look with normal eyelets. Also I will prefere a full leather insole like in the RW Beckmann not the half insole this one have. Overall a outstanding boot worth the money.

Classic work boot style without work boot bulk
These boots are a staple of my wardrobe and are worn with jeans, chinos, and slacks. The full grain leather upper and leather sole with a Vibram heal are fantastic. At some point they may need a cobbler given how much walking I do in them, but it's a boot that will last for casual everyday use. I wouldn't use this as a work boot as there definitely more rugged models that have a thicker soul and actual steel cap toe like Red Wing Iron Rangers. That said, I like that the 1000 Mile has a much sleeker and fashionable look. These boots do run a bit large. For most sizing a full size down should do, but I ended up sizing 1.5 sizes down. The fit was almost too small, but the leather did stretch over time and I now have a perfect fit. I would recommend trying to find a store that sells them to see how much you need to downsize.Overall this is a very solid boot with good construction and quality leather. Yes, you could find something more durable, but for everyday wear this will be a long lasting shoe with a timeless look.

Nice shoes
They fit as expected when heeding warnings from previous reviews. Ordered 1 size down. I have wide feet and was able to stretch the leather to fit. It does get scuffed but its a shoe. Very comfortable. No break in needed unless you have wide feet.

True Quality Control is gone. Folks just keep sending sub-par products.
I am so sick and tired of poor quality control from almost everywhere you buy things. What happened to quality? What happened to giving a damn about what you're selling or sending customers? Can i once order a product and for it to be in just ok condition? Doesn't have to be perfect. That's all im asking, is an ok condition. So the insoles of the boots have these dried up stains all over the wolverine logo. Like someone spilled something and it dried up that way. I wiped it off, but what was that? Some dried up fluids from a previous return? Also, there is an odd white stain and white markings there as well. I don't know what that is or what it could be. I get it, these are all hand made so things like off center stitching and glue marks are expected. Imperfections in a hand made boot is totally fine, like leather variations and some scuffs, cuts, glue stains, and things. I am totally fine with all of this. But the worst thing for me is...the toe box. The toe box looks like a cap toe variant of this 1000 mile boot. I ordered the original brown 1000 mile boot with the leather sole. And im not saying that a cap toe version was delivered, no. What im saying is that the structure of the toe cap is such that the leather seemed too tight there on the outside of the toe box, thus, allowing for the inner toe cup to be protruding. And this leaves an embossed imprint of a cap toe. Makes these look like Red Wing Iron Ranger toe box. So odd. I've went around many different stores trying on various colors and sizes and never seen this before. Unless i am bugging and this is the way the toe box is supposed to look. But I've seen a good handful of YouTube reviews, and saw them in hand in stores a dozen times.Another return for me. And this is a beautiful looking boot so i am extremely disappointed.I mean before you send out the product...just give it a once over. 1 minute of your time. And then ask yourself, will the customer accept this. 9 out of 10 times the answer is, no. So money is wasted on all these unnecessary shipping costs.

Amazing! True quality
I have multiple pairs of boots in the 100-300 range and these surpass all of them. Solid leather and a style that will never go out of style. Have been wearing them for 3-4 days straight now. After a quick break in, they are so comfortable. For size, I typically wear a 10 in shoes and a 9.5 in boots. These are a 9 and a perfect.

Well made and worth the money.
The fit is right on as far as length goes. I usually wear and 10.5 or 11 U.S., and the 1000 Mile boots fit well at a 10 U.S. One thing to note is that I use Superfeet Green insoles with most of my shoes/boots but with those in the 1000 Mile, the midfoot was too tight. I switched the Superfeet Green with Superfeet Black insoles (made for dress shoes) and the fit was right. Break in time was minimal as far as high-end boots, about two weeks for me.If you're deciding between the Wolverine 1000 Mile boots and the Red Wing Blacksmith boots (I have these in both Black and Reddish Brown), it really comes down to one or two differences that may guide your decision. First, the 1000 Mile has a dress shoe sole as opposed to the Red Wing Blacksmith's work boot type sole. I like both and so I bought each. The second difference between the two boots is that the Red Wing has a sort of bulbous toe area. I didn't like the way it looked in the pictures but it looks much better in person.

Boots appear used out of the box
Boots were sold at a discount from manufacturer price, from a third party other than Wolverine boot company. That being said, I thought they'd still be new? There are substantial asphalt scuffs on both soles, and noticable gashes in the leather on both inner quarter panels. Looks like someone wore them around town for a day before returning them. While I know they were discounted, $200 should equal a brand new pair of boots, unless otherwise specified. Be wary of who you buy shoes from on Amazon, ESPECIALLY DNA footwear.
