Well made and balance's well.
Great hammer. With it and four other hammers. one double ended, tapered round one and two wood hammers, my shop is maybe complete. There are never enough.

Good quality
This is marketed as a chisel hammer. But itโs also a good Japanese plane hammer. For chisels I would recommend something wooden and larger head. The quality is very good and the weight and balance feels nice in the hand. I use it on my hand planes and it works very well.

Expertly made in Japan
This is a well made, durable nailing/chisel hammer. Made in japan with attention to detail, the handle is comfortable and the head is finished well, with one concave and one hammering head. This makes it a versatile hammer. Your environment can affect the heads fit, moisture will make the wood expand, and a dry environment could make it shrink. If this is a problem, this would be easily fixed by placing a wedge in it. I love this hammer.

Good hammer for the price
The hammer is very nicely made. The handle is a great thickness and the overall product is well balanced. I did notice the metal wedge put in the top was sticking out a lot so idk if Iโm meant to put that in further or leave it but the head is fit in totally solid. So unless I see need for it later, Iโll just leave it alone. Only real con I can bring up is their is a sort of protective sealer/liner on the head which is pretty easy to mess up on the point of impact but it is a hammer so inevitably their will be scrapes.

Light weight great hammer
I bought it to fine tune my kannada, but haven't really used it for that but for small handy projects and works great.

Nice Japanese hammer, different weights, two types of hammer faces.
Love this hammer, seems well made and quite light. This is the 300 gram one, there is a heavier one, but I think this one is a great starter hammer for adjusting a Japanese plane blade or hitting a chisel. It has a nice shape to the handle which is light and easily held in the hand. The hammer head has two different face shapes: one is flat and the other is slightly convex, or slightly domed. The flat side is to drive nails, chisels, and other normal hammer needs. The convex side is used to actually set nails slightly into the wood, and also to slightly distress the wood when fitting a mortise and tenon joint. It will temporarily allow the wood to be compressed, but later will expand and make for a tight fitting joint.

Sturdy
the hammer head is 3 3/8 inches (8.6cm) long: striking head width 7/8 inches (2.3cm) wide, one inch (2.5) high. handle is 12 7/8 inches (33.1cm) long. the head shape reminds me of the Memorial of the USS Arizona. i've have dogyu hammers and i am pleased of their professional quality. this hammer is none the difference. i am very pleased. shipping was spot on and amazingly the USPS delivered it on time.

A great & versatile little hammer
I love this hammer so far. My main reason for purchasing was to use it as a light duty hammer for adjusting the irons in my Japanese planes, it works incredibly well for that & of course excels equally for use with chisels & countless other purposes. An excellent value considering the quality & versatility.
