A wonderful lightweight, versatile light that's made my reading at night much more versatile and productive. No more straining to get under a fixed light; I just move this light to the book or magazine or newspaper I'm reading, whether I'm reading at a table or sitting in a chair. Three levels of light.

I’m a nail tech and occasionally the electricity goes out in the shopping center,leaving me panicking not knowing how I’m going to finish my client so I bought this lamp that’s portable, easy to carry and store in case of emergencies like this again where I need light to see my work up close. It’s cute & modern. After a full charge, it can last for a few hours. The multiple lighting and dimming is a plus! Recently I lost my charging cord and contacted a rep to see if they have chargers and Jeff from Lustrat support replied in no time and was informative on helping me with a solution to get my light working again. Lustrat customer service was great! Thanks again! I love the light, even 2.5 years later, my Lustrat light is still working well.

Unprecedented Customer Service and Company of IntegrityFirst let me say that I love my pink, portable, lamp! I have been using it constantly now for about 9 months. It has proven itself to be sturdy, dependable, and an excellent source of light in any situation for my diverse needs. Upon receiving my lamp, I posted an I love it review; I did note what I thought was a design flaw (which I was incorrect about…so keep reading) due to the fact that the folding arm does not cover the power button, so sometimes, upon travel, the power button would accidentally get bumped, and then my charge would sometimes be a little weak (which is no big deal, you just use a USB cord to charge it just like your phone.) I depend on Amazon reviews, so I try to be as accurate and insightful as possible. I didn’t want to return my lamp, I was perfectly happy keeping it and using it, because it is great (and pink)!Upon reflection, my review did seem like I was slightly unhappy with my purchase. So, the owner of the company contacted me in order to apologize because he was under the impression I was unsatisfied with the lamp. Truly, you do not see customer service like this anywhere these days. Not only did he attempt to refund my money, which I would not let him do because I love my lamp, but he also explained to me the reasoning behind the design.This lamp was originally designed as an Assistive Technology tool for people with disabilities. For example, some disabilities require an easily accessible, highly sensitive power button for a person to be able to utilize the lamp without assistance. (Note I have worked with students and adults with disabilities for the last 18 years) - so when he explained the design’s original intent, it made perfect sense. I also found out that this company donates a significant amount of products to facilities that help disabled students or adults acquire and utilize Assistive Technology.This is exceptionally rare these days, trust me, it is almost impossible to find companies to donate Assistive Technology or anything, actually for people with disabilities. This, coupled with the amazing customer service, that is virtually non-existent these days, they, truly restored my faith in the business world and human nature. The owner and his customer representatives went above and beyond to make sure that I was completely happy with my product, which I am!! I truly felt compelled to share with the Amazon community what a remarkable company I am happy to do business with. I hope this brings some restored faith to any person who reads this review as well. I wanted to ensure LUSTRAT received an appropriate acknowledgement of their phenomenal integrity and commitment to serve not only their customers, but the community as well, as they give altruistically and without recognition.Thank you, LUSTRAT. We use this unit for Photography Portfolio Reviews, when judging Photography shows, and teaching. The light color options are great. It stopped charging suddenly, and despite our being out of the warranty period, Lustrat replaced it free of charge (including shipping). How rare these days - Amazing! (the only thing that keeps it from 5 stars is this unit's power button is exposed and easily turns on (even when carrying in a laptop bag - so it can be totally drained upon arrival).They have a new model ($5 more which they are calling "lustrat Portable OFFICE Lamp (White)") that seems to move the switch so it's covered by the flip out light element. Hopefully this will stop the light from turning on when transporting it as a "portable" light. Great company![Updated 2018-11-09]I purchased the new model (above), and boy is it BRIGHT (and dimmable)! It adds 3 more LED bulbs (each .2W) for a total of 18 (vs. 15 in the orig model). Press and hold the button to change the brightness. Tapping the button turns it on and off, at the last selected brightness (nice touch).HOWEVER, as you can see in the photos, the bulbs are all one color 4000K so you can't change from cool to warm to mixed like on the original (2700K, 6500K, 4000K). Note: for my photography teaching, the changeable colors are really helpful, but it's important to note that changing between the 3 colors also changes the brightness (1W Cool, 2W Warm, 3W Mixed) - see photos.Unfortunately, both the models can still be turned on accidentally way too easily, even when the arm with the lights is closed. We were really hoping for a mechanical switch that "clicks" on/off so the light doesn't arrive at your destination drained of all power (like it invariably does for us.). While the switch was moved on the new light (recessed a bit - see photo), it's not enough to protect it from accidentally turning on (and draining the battery). The new model's arm "flaps open" when held horizontally (vs. the original's which stays in place - see photo), which makes the power button vulnerable. Both power buttons are _extremely_ sensitive - even taping a piece of cardboard over them hasn't stopped accidental turning on while travelling.The new model is significantly taller (13.25" vs 10x.25"), which could be an advantage for a desktop reading lamp where you want light to spread more widely (see photo). It's also wider in the base (4" diameter vs 2.25" x 2" wide tapering to 1.5") and heavier (18.35oz vs 13.95oz).The arm containing the lights on the original model opens fully (180 degrees, flat). I find this particularly helpful when hand-holding the light to illuminate artwork on walls. The new model only opens to about 120 degrees (see photo).Another, small, difference is that the original is charged with USB B connector, while the new one uses micro usb (cables included) (see photo).Lastly, they both appear to have same battery capacity, 2000mAh. They both seem to work continuously when plugged in, but don't know if doing so will wear out the battery(?). They both have lights to indicate when being charged. Oddly, the original model shines brighter when charging.All-in-all Lustrat's customer service is AMAZING! Fingers crossed some day they'll add a mechanical switch or a sensor that turns the light off when the arm is closed. Then they'll be unbeatable in this space.

Rechargeable, portable, wonderful for “close work” Rreading in bed! I use mine for manicures; the older I get, the blinder I’m getting. The light doesn’t disturb my husband when I’m using it bedside. It seems to hold a charge for a long time. I think it would be a perfect light for dorm life. My only criticism would be while it is cordless & very lightweight, it is cumbersome to move about with it. I think a carrying case would make a wonderful accessory & it would keep it dust free when not in use.
