More depth to Hebrew letters and language
I love that there are meanings behind even every individual letter. YHWH is such an awesome God and grand creator and am grateful and humbled that He invites every one of us into a personal relationship with Him. My main complaint is that some of the smaller script is hard to read.

Not quite what I was hoping for
What is in this book is great, however it is very very short, I was hoping for more information/history/musing/etc about each letter.

I really like this book.
I am a serious student of, what may be called, Mystical Judaism, which includes the Qabalah. The Hebrew letters themselves, their shape and numerical value, are part of this study. I would highly recommend this book to serious students of Hebrew who love the language.

very good book
My wife and I wanted to learn a bit of Hebrew so we could attempt to read the Bible in Hebrew. This book was a good way to start to understand the meanings behind each character. I found the font they used a bit difficult to read (although it did look artistic it was a difficult font to read...and they wrote words at 90 degree angles for some reason which made you flip the book around...that was a bit frustrating)

Very enjoyable introduction to the spiritual aspects of the Hebrew letters, as well as instructions on how to write, or paint them!

Utter perfection
You wouldn't think that an alphabet could touch your soul - but Lawrence Kushner's Book of Letters, the Jewish alef beit, does just that. Each letter is unique and significant. If you want confirmation that G-d inspired the author, read the final paragraph on page 31, referring to Dalet. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is examining Hebrew on a deeper level.
