I was looking for a small magnifying glass to quickly read fine print. This isn’t it! 40x is just too difficult. If you get it too far away from your eye or target, it flips it upside-down. The glass (yes it’s real) itself is about the size of a postage stamp however only about a 1/3 (directly in the center) of it is useful because the outer edge is so high powered you can’t focus it. It is not aberrated, it is the necessary convex shape to create 40x in such a small area.Best thing is actually the light! I use the light 100 times more the the magnifying glass. It’s very bright and makes everything clear. The UV light is nice too. Had I known, and been able to try it, I would have never purchased this.

I spent way too much time looking for the best means of viewing trichomes. All sorts of fancy gadgets. And then I took a chance on this for a fraction of the price. Sensational performance. Easy to focus, wide view, much better than the 30x60 combo that are respectively underpowered / too small to see clearly.

This is absolute trash. Foggy glass, heavy and bulky. Do not buy.

I used one of these for 3 days on and off, and the light stopped working. Used the tool to try and open it to change the batteries and the tool bent. Must have faulty threading on battery compartment. I haven't tried the other one yet but I hope it lasts more than 3 days. Uh.

I bought this to see what pests were attacking my plants. I identified very small mites with this. It works well.
