A simple solution
This simple product works, although I think it is wildly overpriced. Makes getting into your ski boots simple. Just don’t let the plastic piece slide down into your boot behind your heel because it will then be hard to get out.

The ski boot horn worked as hoped for
I’ve used the ski boat boot horn twice now and it has worked perfectly. I have a narrow boot that feels great when it’s on and buckled up. But, it’s a bear to get on; especially my larger right foot. The ski boot horn virtually eliminated that problem. I can imagine if you overworked it or pulled too hard on the grommet hole it could rip. But there’s really no reason to muscle it removing it from the boot.

It works!
