As a retired electrician, these timers are easy to set up even without reading the instructions, no need to be plugged in while programming, i like the large clear display that shows you everything you need to know at a glanceUsing these for outdoor christmas lights.I would have liked there to be a fuse

These are great timers work perfect for our lamps. The only thing is they are tricky to use at first it took use ages to set it right but once you get it it’s very straight forward and easy.

Some reviews say they're a bit difficult to program but I've found that's not the case.. sure the instructions are a little clunky but once you've done one of the two, you're sorted..and I've thrown my instructions away (and I'm not particularly clever!) Nice big display and it's really easy to set it up. TIP 1 - Sit down with pen and paper and work out times for the up-to ten settings BEFORE you start rather sitting there thinking of times.. TIP 2 - Sellotape the supplied "reset prodder" to one unit because otherwise you'll loose it for sure! TIP 3 - To check everything works, cycle to "ON" but then you have to cycle to "OFF" to get back to "AUTO" otherwise your attached device will stay on! Work just great and highly recommended.. Brilliant used to time Christmas lights now use it to switch on febreze plug in when I get home rather than using it when I’m out at work.

Instructions aren’t clear, sentences don’t make sense, half completed paragraphs. The programs didn’t work, tried various combinations and settings, sent it back and ordered another product. Maybe I just got unlucky as I have had a few digital timers but this was no good

I have now 3 sets of these timers and they are so handy to use, they are silent (round dial timers tick). I use them for lamps and the Christmas trees so I don't need to worry about climbing in behind the tree everyday to switch on and off. For my daughters lamp I set the timer to go off at 11pm every night so she falls asleep happy that the light is on but then once asleep the lamp is not burning all night long.

Failed stuck always on. The timer is still working but it no longer switches the output so it is now useless as anything other than a clock.

Good value and more reliable than mechanical timers
