The throat depth is how deep the jaws of a clamp are, and is measured by the distance from the top edge of the jaws to the side of the frame. This indicates how far into the throat of a clamp a workpiece can fit. **Q: How much pressure before it brakes** A: Do you mean breaks? If so then you won' be able to break these. If you mean how much pressure you an apply, then these will do about 125# to 150# and then no more because they will slip and stay. Perfect pressure or most glue jobs in woodworking. **Q: how wide can the jaws go?** A: The jaws will open to three and three-quarters inches (3-3/4"). ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐ Pure Garbage *by G***L on 20 February 2022* Seriously lacks holding power when compared to the previous gen of irwin's handiclamp. Save ur money and get the irwin 59400CD instead ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ It is what it is *by R***R on 5 May 2026* They do the job tips fall off, but they’re are ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Sometimes better than a spring clamp *by A***B on 15 June 2015* These are better than spring clamps for my purpose. You do not struggle against a strong spring to get them into working position. You simply move them to the right opening and then squeeze to apply whatever clamping force you want. Also unlike many spring clamps, the jaw-pads swivel to meet the clamped surface squarely. The release works with relative ease, though you do need to orient it toward the palm of your hand to be able to use it. I will eventually use these clamps in woodworking, but I have an unusual application for now. When I put a book on a stand, this clamp will hold the pages flat to the cover so they do not pull back toward the closed position. It was not immediately apparent to me that the 2-inch designation was the opening for clamped material. I bought two of this size and should have bought one this size and the second smaller. When an open book has more pages on one side than the other, this clamp will always handle the larger side and the smaller would handle the side with less than half the pages. OK, I said my application was unusual! ## Frequently Bought Together - Irwin Tools Irwin 59200CD Quik-Grip Handi-Clamp, 4-Inch - IRWIN Tools QUICK-GRIP Handi-Clamp, 1 1/2-Inch (59100CD) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.com.cy/products/348950376-tools-quick-grip-handi-clamp-4-inch-1799213](https://www.desertcart.com.cy/products/348950376-tools-quick-grip-handi-clamp-4-inch-1799213) --- *Product available on Desertcart Cyprus* *Store origin: CY* *Last updated: 2026-10-25*
