I owned a dome before, The dome here is flatter with a sunshade. The reason I wanted was because my other dome had terrible sky reflection do to shape. This dome is heavier in weight and larger diameter. A little harder to get my camera in and out but works. My complaint is that instead of a sky reflection like my old dome, I now get a nuts and bolts camera refection in my photos. I think if they had painted or coated the inside with a flat black finish it might eliminate this problem.A protective case would have been nice when you consider price.

Used it in Florida and worked really well!! I love it! One thing thought that is hard is the screws used to close the door that holds the gopro case in it. I wish they were easier to open and close instead of screwing for longer than I would like to be to make sure the gopro is firm up against the dome.
