This wire cover works great and definitely will protect your pets - unless they chew it aggressively and chew through it (but that would take quite a bit). It's a bit of a challenge to install just because the slit (that runs the length of it) makes a tight fit. I found that by using some kind of tool (like a screwdriver or pen) to run the length of that slit at a 45 degree angle (to make sure it is not still joined along that slit and opens OK) makes it easier to put over the wire/cord. I would definitely recommend it.

This does a nice job of keeping my kittens from chewing through my cords and cables of my home theater. Some reviewers have complained that they don't stop rabbits. Rabbits, like the rodents, have teeth that grow constantly and actually contain metal. The advertising is false regarding pets like that. They can chew through steel. But for cats and dogs, this stuff works fine.

I was skeptical, but puppy chewing on cords was too dangerous and repairing cords too aggravating. This was easy to cut, a little tedious to put the cord in, but manageable, and pleasantly surprised that it worked right away.
