Q: what adhesive works best?

I just use the one from Home Depot that I had on hand already and it worked absolutely fine. Its on the flooring section in caulk tube form

Q: How does it hold up to pet urine? The baseboard i have now (looks like wood shavings glued together -- particleboard, maybe-- has disintegrated.

I have a grooming salon with this vinyl baseboard and it’s the only thing that’s held up. I’ve had multi dogs in and out of my salon on a daily basis and they have accidents all of the time. This is the only thing that’s held up over the long haul of 10 years and just ordered more for a new room addition.

I would suggest using any quart tube of vinyl base adhesive found at Lowes or Home Depot, they have a spreader tip for the caulk tube sold right next to the glue that works best

A wall and cove baseboard adhesive works well. The adhesive comes in a tube or a tub that is applied to the back with an applicator.
