I like to have most of the most commonly used fly tying threads on a bobbin ready to use. For the price this bobbin allows me to have more threads ready to tie. I have not had any experience of the bobbin cutting the thread, so far.

Have one when I ordered my Fly Tying kit like it so instead of changing the spool I got a 2nd one I'm just starting to do flyting.

It may not seem like the highest honor in a review to say something works like it's supposed to, but I beg to differ. This bobbin holds my thread and it's affordable enough to get a few at a time so I don't need to spend time switching out threads. No one ties flies to save money but having multiple bobbins saves more than money; it saves time. You may need to use the same 3x magnifiers you used to tie that #22 midge to get this thing threaded, but once it is you should be good for a number of buggers, wooly and otherwise.

Seems to work well, but you can't put longer spools on it.

The hardest part is knowing the trick to get thread through hole. Once you figure that out it’s works great. Have been using for 2 months.

It was inexpensive and did what it was designed to do. No complaints.

I didn't think I'd like the rolled lip on the end, and I don't, but it's more of a cosmetic dislike than a functional.I wouldn't hesitate to buy again.

This helped my 16 yo son have more control over the thread. Easy to use with practice. He just started creating his own flies and he said this was perfect!
