Wear outdoors then swap out the band for a night out
I've had this watch for more than 5 years now and I have nothing but good things to say about it. I got it as a weekend/outdoors counterpart to my Timex Easy Readers that I wore to the office for more than a decade (one for brown belts, one for black belts). During Covid and WFH, it's even more literally my daily wearer. My Weekender has for years stood up to everything I've thrown at it, worked perfectly, and gotten me several compliments. It's easy to read and has a subtle elegance. At 38mm--not too big, but not small either--the size is perfect to serve you in the outdoors and also augment a subtle style or aesthetic on a night out. I don't like to swim, much less dive. So all I look for in a watch, in terms of WR, is whether it can survive me getting caught in a summer shower, get dishwater splashed on it, or, worst case scenario, a quick splash in the pool or ocean. I haven't swam in this watch, but I've certainly done the first 2 on those list with it. The case held up just fine, no fogging or worse, and wearing a fabric strap means it won't get funky--and you can just throw it in the wash anyway. Despite not swimming in it, I do "sport" in this watch otherwise--jogging, mountain biking, softball, etc. In all those situations, the watch was fine. No signs of slowing down, no cracks or scratches. The indiglo backlight flickers, but I have hardly used that since I was a teenager anyway. The quartz movement means you'll never have to set the watch like a manual needs daily, and like an automatic or solar may require. I've never replaced the battery on my Weekender or had to reset the time because it was off. After a day of sporting, you can toss the sweaty strap in the laundry and pick out a new one based on your outfit, all in a couple seconds. My Weekender was my introduction to NATO and other single-pass fabric straps, and they're now my go-to daily watch set-up. I've never replaced the battery and haven't noticed any lost or gained time. I should mention that I don't really adhere to the mentality that you need to measure how accurate a watch is over a year or more to judge its merits. This watch doesn't have a date window, which would mean several more resets per year, but between traveling between time zones and DST, I have to reset the Weekender several times a year anyway. I wouldn't wear this watch with a dressy outfit, but for everything up to that point, it looks appropriate. I don't like flashy watches or to walk into a room and have my timepiece be the first thing people notice, so this is perfect for me. You should never pick out a watch based on what you think watch snobs will think/say, but if you're worried about it looking 'cheap,' I've only gotten compliments about the Weekender. Like many affordable product lines, there is a surprising fandom out there for this watch. At this price point, I don't think anyone would regret buying it, and its versatility means it may become that go-to watch for when none of the rest make sense. And if it's your only watch--good choice.

Good buy
This is a great basic watch (telling time) I love that this is a simple, reliable watch that is holding up well, being worn every day.

Beauty in Simplicity
Had my Weekender for a quick minute now, and so far, so good. I've had none of the issues others have had with it getting damaged by invasive moisture. The band that comes with is slightly frayed around my most-used size slot, but that's it - and I frequently take mine off if I need to do something grubby with both hands, so that's a factor. Light is dim but perfectly readable in low or no light. The face reads easily, as well. The most contentious issue: the volume of its mechanism. Since so many people seem to have a beef with or questions about this, I decided to be as specific as possible: at 9'8" (~3m), I can hear this watch ticking on my dresser if I've got nothing making noise (no music, no fan, etc.). I would not say it disturbs me at all and I do not notice it going about my day. It's a handsome, simple little watch and I'm glad I bought it.

My 14 year review!
I purchased this watch in 2012, for only $27! Even today the price hasn't creeped up too bad. I'm letting it go now only because the glass cracked last year, probably due to impact somewhere. The watch is really good, and I loved the sporty casualness with the ability to swap out bands. It's lightweight and I love the indiglo feature. Wish all watches had it. The battery lasts forever. The one thing I dislike about it is the loudness. It ticks loud. The loudest among all my other watches. In fact I had to purchase a watch box to store this thing so that the ticking noise gets muffled. In a quiet bedroom or when your hand is near your ears, the ticking can bother you. But I still wouldn't have let it go only for this reason, and I have more expensive watches than this. Also if you have a large wrist, this can look small on you so keep that in mind. But it's a great watch. I wouldn't have kept it for 14 years otherwise.

Pleasing Everyday Watch
This is a very nice every day watch at a reasonable price. The dial is clean and the time is shown in 12 and 24 hour modes. It certainly resembles a field watch especially with the NATO strap which comes in different colors. I chose the blue and red strap. The indigo works well in illuminating the dial. The watch also fits nicely on my skinny wrist!

Love it! Go to work watch. Stylish. Comfy. Must buy.
I absolutely love this watch and I’m a bit of a watch snob! It’s my new go to work watch. Comfy and I love the large-ish dial. Very stylish! Zero complaints! Home run!

Love This Casual Watch! Great Value.
After my expensive Fossil watch died about a year ago, I've been struggling with cheap garbage watches ever since, not willing or able to get another expensive one. The last one I had literally fell apart on me, so I decided it was time (literally) to look at better quality ones. I have owned a Timex watch before and it last for years, so it was the first brand I looked into, since Timex seems to be a great combination of reasonable prices and quality watches. I found this olive green weekender on their website. For the record, this watch is UNISEX, not Men's, as Amazon states in the title. The color and style of the watch band grabbed me, mellow, casual, it really looked nice on the website. I also liked the large dial, my last cheapo had a tiny face that made me feel prematurely old when I struggled to read the time. The price seemed more than reasonable, and then I found it on Amazon for even less. So I ordered it. I was expecting to pay at least $50 for a good watch, so I was excited and hopeful. I received the watch today and I have to say I am just thrilled with it. I had a read a review saying that the band was "paper thin" and "flimsy". I'm not sure what kind of paper they write on, but the band is almost 3mm thick, which is plenty. I wouldn't want it any thicker, it bends around the wrist nicely this way, and it is after all, tightly woven NYLON, so it's hardly flimsy. Having said that, I do agree with a different reviewer who said they wished the band holes had grommets. I would like that detail too, as well as a reinforced end of the band, but the fact is, the watch would cost more with those features, so I think I'll live without them. The face is wonderful, I love the large size. Nice and easy to read with distinctive black hands and a bright red second hand, so you can see the time at a very quick glance. The overall face of the watch is pretty large though, so if you're looking for something small in size, this wouldn't be it. A couple descriptions I've read state the face color as white. It's not white, but more of a cream color. Fine with me, but thought I'd mention it. The Indiglo feature is pretty handy too, I haven't had the good ol' Timex Indiglo feature in a long time. Some people have mentioned wishing the watch band was longer. I love it just the way it is, but admittedly, I have somewhat small wrists, so I appreciate the lack of a hanging band. There are ten adjustment holes, my wrist only goes to the 4th hole, so I would think it would be reasonable for most men or women, but if you're particularly large boned, maybe it would be on the small side, it's hard for me to say for sure. Another feature is the 24 hour clock markings. Not something I needed, but it adds more detail to the face and is something new for me to learn. Oh, and there's TWO loops on the watch band to slide the overlapping band under, which I really like! I hate hanging bands, which happens a lot on my smaller wrist. Overall, I'd rate this watch a 10 out of 10, I just love it. I saw a review that said it's good for casual wear or dressy occasions. Everyone is entitled to their opinions of course, but I just want to say that I don't feel this is at all dressy. To me, it's a VERY casual style, which I think is why they named it the Weekender.

Good watch to buy if you are looking for a 38 mm field watch at this price.
Indiglo feature is superb and helpful in dark. Good quality. The watch hands shown in the product images are white but in real they are silver but it looks nice, matches the outer case. Straps are also good. Some reviews say that they got extra straps but I did not. 38 mm field watches are not easy to find at this price.
