I want to run audio from t.v. into stero reciver, this is what i need?

You haven't given enough information.  It depends on when your TV was manufactured.  Most TVs manufactured in the last 10-15 years have digital connections or plugs (HDMI, Optical, or Digital Coax), but not analog such as these RCA analog plugs.  Most Stereo Receivers older than approx. 2005 don't have digital connections, but RCA "composite" or "component" ports.  You have to match up the ports.  Look on the back of both the TV and Receiver.  They should all be labeled. If you don't have the same plugs or ports on both the TV and Receiver, you will have to buy an adapter or in-between piece called a Digital to Analog Converter (DAC).  A DAC could run from $15-$20 up to multi-thousands of dollars.  Usually stay away from the junk under $50-$60.  The DAC will take your HDMI or Digital Coax/Optical plugs from your TV, which are a separate purchase than these cables.  Then these Amazon Basics RCA Stereo cables will run out of the DAC's RCA ports to the stereo receiver.  Remember, you have to first look at the back of the TV (or TV's manual) and the back of the stereo receiver to verify the plug receptacles.

Can this cable be used for non subwoofer connections or solely for sub woofer applications? is this a thicker cable than the standard rca cable?

This is an 'all-purpose' RCA to RCA cable. I am using mine to connect a DAC and pre-amp to my power amplifier. The cables are well made and the prettiest in my collection.

The entire cable is heavy duty and should last forever. The cable casing is a thick rubber, and the plugs are heavy duty, gold tipped and well constructed. The best RCAs I have ever owned.

They are a little tight to connect. If you are planning to leave them plugged in indefinitely, that is fine. But if you intend to remove/install them frequently, I would open the blades up just a tad for a looser fit so as not to stress the input jacks when twisted in and out.

I was so impressed that I now own four such cables, and am slowly retiring my ancient mixture of cables collected over the years. It is nice to have them all look the same for once!
