QTEC25 2.50 Inch QTP Electric Exhaust Cutout Valve

NOT INSTALLED YET, but . . .Looks and feels robust . . . not sure HOW fast the activation of the butterfly would be; would it SNAP on/off . . . or is it the "creeps" open and close? Was hoping to have it activate with VTEC . . . will see.I bought this because I'm exhaust limited on my EG turbo; RSR cat-back is nice for lower sound, but I hit max 225 whp at 5200rpm and stays flat until redline . . . The plan is to connect this AFTER the CAT (because I'm a tad bit eco-conscious) so I can attempt to hit 270whp.Recommendation: yes, even though a bit pricey . . . the "cool" factory of straight pipe exhaust at a flick of a button is kinda cool. Bring it on, Mr. Ferrari! LOL, jk

Shipping was a week late. Finish on the aluminum is mediocre. Because of the design it’s not a true 2.5in. Emailed the company and have not heard back. Disappointed for the price I paid..

Purchased this for my 04 R53 MINI Cooper S. I'm giving it a 4 star review because I have had it on the car for 8 months now, including through the New York winter, and it has held up relatively well. The reason for the star reduction is that the coupling between the motor and valve plate did come loose and started to rattle and keep the valve from fully opening or closing (I fixed that problem). In addition, the toggle switch that comes with it is very stiff and cheep feeling, not a high quality switch. Other than those two discrepancies, the construction is good and it seals very well. The motor is geared to the valve plate, so it does take about 5sec to go from full open to full close.

I love being quiet at the light, pull up next to a race honda, and blast him with open headers at the green light, great for the sleepercars!!

This is the 2nd cutout I have bought from QTP, the other one lasted a year and a half of heavy use before the motor froze up. Unfortunately I bought this kit just before the motor only became available for sale.Edit: 2/24/18Didn’t even make it a year and now this one is sticking. Already ordered a diverter setup from NOWEEDS. If you’re going to spend the money in the first place. Spend the money on something better. Go check out noweeds.net
