Decided to make a few gallons of hard cider and couldn't find any fermenting buckets for less than $50. After reading some reviews I decided to try these air locks and make my own. Can't beat the price, all parts were included along with several rubber grommets.Install was super easy using a step drill bit. In less than a minute I had a lid with a hole that fit the grommet perfectly that the air lock installed in to with a tight seal! Buckets were free to me so instead of $50 for a fermenting bucket I had built my own for just a couple dollars.We'll see what the outcome is but with all the good reviews here I'm sure it's going to do the job. If you're looking for an airlock, best I can tell, don't hesitate to get these ones. Great quality, price and easy install!

Fermentation makes yummy things, whether its sauerkraut, kimchee, garum / soy sauce, cider, wine or beer. For successful fermentation, you need an airlock. An airlock lets the carbon dioxide out of your fermentation vessel, and keeps oxygen from getting in. For years I used glass (and later, plastic) S-shaped airlocks. But how the heck do you keep them clean? I came across this version a few months ago, and I'm not going back. So easy to clean and use!

Should have gotten the ones that came with jar lids. The answer to someone else's question gave a precise size to drill the hole. Not even close. Someone better than me with a drill may not have had a problem getting a clean cut hole.

There’s a little strainer on the neck that will clog if your wine burps. Then you can expectA full blowout. I tossed these and got ones that don’t have the strainer.

For the price, was able to get 6 as compared to our local brew house would have gotten 2 for the same price. Came with extra grommets. Have 3 different things going at the moment in food grade buckets with locking tops.
