If the leather piece you receive is lighter than you desire, you can set it outside in the sunlight for an hour or two at a time until correct patina color is achieved!

Great Leather, Ditch the Label on the Back
Love the leather, it is mostly flawless and should be excellent for soles on lightweight slippers I am making. However, I don't understand the need to place a paper sticker on the leather, even though it is on what many will consider the back. Some may want to expose that suede side and there should be no sticker or glue residue visible. Fortunately, I can work around this with my project, but you can see in my photos what the sticker looks like and the residue left behind after I removed it. At least I was able to lift a corner carefully and slowly peel it off, and the label did not disintegrate and leave little pieces. The labels on the plastic cover should have been enough.

3rd roll ordered, decent quality consistency.
This leather was perfect for making all kinds of rustic gear for my mountain hunting and search and rescue needs. I've used it for chest holsters, axe collars & sheaths, knife sheaths and folding saw pouches. It has held up well to months of harsh direct sunlight and rugged use in the field. I would highly recommend treating your finished pieces using sno-seal.

Good quality and value
Uniform surface and seems durable. I use these for knife sharpening strops, and they work well. Surface is smooth, and the leather is durable. Eight to nine ounce leather is best for strops. Use Bark River black and green and Flexcut Gold compounds. Glue onto Home Depot paint stick with 3M Super 77 glue. The Super 77 is strong but allows the leather to be removed easily for replacement.

Good for Making Leather Strop for Knife
I got the 12" x 12" to make four 3 x 12 leather strop. This translated into two dollars per strop. I tested out by stropping a few of the kitchen knifes on the smooth side (no stropping compound). These knives already sharp and were stropped on a home made strop loaded with the green compound. The paper cut test on thin magazine paper prior to stropping on the smooth side of this leather, was clean but I can hear the sound was not quite as smooth and I can still feel a bit of super micro burr on one side (Yes. I did remove the micro burr wire by cutting on to a piece of softwood with just the weight of the knife).Stropping on the smooth side of this leather remove the supper micro burr and at the same time polished the edge of the knife further. This resulted smoother cut and sound on thin magazine paper. This was done on cheap kitchen knife with soft steel (HRC between 52 - 56). I don't know if this will work as well on knife with HRC above 56 but consider the price, I am more than satisfy.
