A Novel Romance

Amy Acker = 5 Stars!!
This is a typical Hallmark movie! They always have a happy ending. Man meets woman and they fall in love and usually get married. This is a very sweet story of a chance meeting between Amy Acker and Dylan Bruce who meet on a jet.Sophie, [Amy] was hurt in the past and not ready to take a chance again. However, she begins to fall for this man who is a famous writer. That is the last thing she wants is to get involved with someone famous. There are many twists and turns this story takes but it is a great payoff in the last few minutes as the movie ends.Amy Acker is so sweet and fragile you really believe in her character. She can be so timid, meek, and damaged in this movie. Then watch her as she plays Root in Person of Interest and she is a female Terminator! This woman should have been cast in a block buster movie by now as she most surely can portray any type of character.

It's About Lives and Not Mindsets
As someone who has been through much of what these two go together combined, I can state clearly that there is not much BS in this movie. To the rest of the planet, it may seem so, but dealing with a difficult past is always a complex challenge. And then there is Amy Acker, who many find painful. I find her very human, which can be painful at a time when one is seeking affection within and without. Dylan Bruce has the same sticky wicket on a different playing field. And so they stumble along finding themselves and each other.Love seekers are often portrayed on a linear path with a small off-course excursion into dispute before happily reuniting. In reality, it is always a tough and long row to hoe. Finding each other and oneself is far more than the passion of the first kiss or a burning look. More often than not, a clean slate is unreachable and therefore the protagonists need to clear out the old baggage in their closets and rebond through restored trust - in oneself and the other.

Low key but well done.
This is a fairly standard Hallmark movie. The idea is that the main character is a famous novelist who writes under a pseudonym. He happens to meet a very nice girl on a plane and they strike up a friendship without him telling her who he is. She happens to be a book reviewer who is in the process of writing a mediocre review for his most recent book. The rest of the movie deals with them becoming close but ending up having problems related to keeping secret identities. If you like the kind of movie where love blossoms without one of the people revealing he or she is famous, then you will probably like this movie. I consider it to be well done for the type of movie it is. There are a couple of mildly interesting secondary characters who don't play a huge part in the story but who are likable. Overall this whole film is pretty likable if not hugely memorable.

ts enjoyable fluff....but well done fluff RomCom.
I really like this. Its enjoyable fluff....but well done fluff. No one is going to call this a classic of modern cinema....but its well done, fun, well acted and edited. Its one of my favorite Hallmark movies of the last year and in my top 10 of the type (most are from Hallmark channel ). I have to say its a bit different than the usual formula, which someone it finally trying to broaden out a bit. I do not want to give out spoilers, so I will not give specifics, but its finally NOT a movie about saving the family farm or business! While I live in a rural area, I have lived in urban and suburbs. It couls have been set anywhere and no trite urban tropes or jokes (or rural ones for that matter). Just a good solid RomCom.

A thin plot but interesting to watch
I love Amy Acker. She caught her famous fiancé cheating on her then swore to never date anyone famous again. Of course she meets a famous author but doesn't know since he writes under a pen name whose real identity is about to be revealed. The storyline was just a bit too thin for my liking. Good for a watch but probably won't care if I watch it again.

Nothing I want to watch again
The guy was too good lookin for the woman...and there just wasn't enough charisma...he looked like he'd rather puke than kiss her...just a really bad match!

Sophie is too harsh and is judgemental
Giving her state of mind and unresolved trust and relationship issues she was dishonest. She blamed another person's failures on Liam. She is angry woman who should not have accussed Liam of being dishonest. She should dealt with her insecurities before involving someone.

Great Plot and great writing!
This is a romance mystery movie with a fun plot and the end of the movie is the perfect ending to the title. Don't want to give it away. Loved the Editor of the Writer and Amy Acker is one of my favorite actresses. Very sweet movie!

easy watching
If I could, I would give this Hallmark movie 3 1/2 stars, half way between my 3 stars and my husband's 4 stars. The storyline was believable, along the lines of "meter maid meets prince, who isn't recognized, and they fall in love". The acting was quite good. Some Hallmark movies are so corny that we watch them once and then send them on to a second-hand store, but this one we'll keep and watch again sometime in the future. There were a few themes in this story: the importance of being honest, forgiveness, love and the struggle letting hurts of the past go.There was one scene that was not really necessary and portrayed poor values to teenagers, and the ending was way out of character for the leading female character. Other than that, for us it was a movie we could relax while watching - no sex, no profanity and no violence.

Great Movie
Expect Postal delays due to Covid19. I saw this movie on W network before buying and it did not disappoint. The soundtrack is in Surround Sound which is a bonus. Amy Acker is an excellent and expressive actress.
