Many factories use less thermoelectric material and sell under-powered 12706 units. This unit pulls true 6 amps at maximum voltage. Rated up to 80 watts at 16.5 Volts. Can attain a delta-T value of 68 degrees C. Reaches freezing temperatures at as low as 5 volts input. We highly recommend experimenting with using lower voltages, or daisy-chaining 2 or 3 Peltier chips in series to a 12V power supply, to achieve much higher COP values and produce dramatically less waste heat. Most users do not need the -30C these chips can achieve at maximum voltages and running at lower volts is extremely efficient.
