I am currently using the FNP Certification Intensive Review to start preparing for my Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) certification, and I am thrilled with the results. Studying for the AGPCNP test. This book cuts out a lot of unnecessary information. Very well written. There are errors that are largely typographical, but they are often humorous and obvious (testicles' optimal temperature for sperm production is 1-2 degrees Celsius (page 382). When you take the practice exams do not automatically assume you are incorrect. The question's ABCD answers do not align with the answer section's ABCD answer. Look at the answer's words. It's a 4th edition, but it needs more proofreading.

I bought this book and online access to supplement my studies and ultimately help prepare me for boards. I just started our core FNP classes and this book is a godsend. I actually just paused studying to write this review. Going through the content things are clicking. They include the pertinent information with enough detail so that you understand it, without bogging you down with unnecessary information. I'm reading this more than my text books and feel like I have a better handle on the content. You can't memorize everything! But you do need to understand each concept and key points.Also - get the online access. It's so worth it. The book is great, but the online access is so convenient. I study in bed, on my break at work, and during my kids' practices. The lessons are so short that you can knock one out in a few minutes and retain what you learned. The practice questions give you the answers with rationale for ALL the choices so that you understand why you got it right or why you got it wrong.Also - I love being able to just flip over to UptoDate or MedlinePlus to get more information on a topic I don't understand. Sometimes it's just googling a picture or video. It makes learning so much quicker and efficient.Anyways - this is really well written, very helpful and a great tool. If you're not sure, get it! Very sad to find damaged pages.

I’m always about saving money and saw many reviews and recommendations about this book and decided to just try it. This book comes with an online program which is sooo organized and amazing. Highly recommend following that format it has check marks when you’re done and has a percentage of how far you are studying as you move along. It lets you put in your test date and counts down how many days you have to take your exam. The program is outlined by chapter and section and at the end there are questions related to that chapter. I read every single page and took notes, making a separate study guide ended up being about 70 pages at the end. The flash cards are very helpful I went through each section as I finished each section. I put the ones I got wrong on the side and at the very end I went through those again. There are 4 practice exams at the end, I took those as if I was taking the real exam environment. The week before my exam I typed out all of the “exam tips” through the entire book and reviewed those, they are EXTREMELY helpful and helps kinda summarize everything so you aren’t overwhelmed with what to cram for last minute. I also ended up buying a practice exam from the actual AANP site which I think was very helpful too. I just had a newborn as soon as I graduated from my FNP program so I studied over the course of about 4 months and took my time doing a little bit when I had downtime or when my baby slept, I spent about 2 days on one section. It was worth it I guess! Didn’t have to spend more than whatever this costed to study 😄

Great help for testing. Can carry flash cards with you. Repetition is a great way to review for the tests.
