WOW!!! What a book!!! Could NOT STOP turning page after page deep into the night!!! Just when you think you might know where this story is going….it goes somewhere else completely!!! Such a complex and intense plot with intriguing characters!!! LOVED IT!!:-)

Lisa Stone has written an atmospheric, spooky novel that keeps you turning the pages. It involves house sitting in an isolated cottage in the woods, an adorable, if somewhat naughty dog, questionable characters throughout, unethical science, and more. I give it a solid 4 stars.

Never connected with the main character. I wanted to like the book. The storyline was just too unbelievable.

I admit I almost stopped reading shortly after I started. The start freaked me out on a level I didn't think possible but I kept going and was glad I did. Sad for a lot of the characters but glad that the truth, as much as could be revealed, came out and justice was bought to those who needed the horror to end in order to redefine their lives. Fascinating story based on sad but true headlines.

Extremely well written. Love the suspense. Hard to put the book down.

Interesting story and sad to think it's based off of true happenings. It's sad to think people are so selfish that they could be do something that could destroy lives.

Super good book - non stop reading about a clinic in a small village - strange noises happening to the college at the end of the woods- wild animals rooming to close looking for food - big eyes looking thru the window every night they come and are getting braver- how does the clinic become part of their a story? Find out. Very interesting

… but had a cliched ending. I read this book in one day because it started with a bang. I wanted to discover the mystery’s answer! But the plot had a few holes that weren’t well explained and the ending was strangely disappointing.

I have never read a Lisa stone book before. This one was excellent. If you like a bit of dark noir then this is the book for you. Wasn't quite what I expected, but very good. Would buy her books again. 👌

I expected a lot more from this story. maybe it was the positive reviews that fooled me, instead I found the reading flat and without jolts.The plot is quite surreal and when I understood the point of the situation everything became clear, all too clear.It's a suspense thriller but I didn't feel the suspense element at all and I would have something to object to the thriller too.It was a boring and predictable reading to me, with characters without depth and with obvious dialogues. I understood how it would end after just a few pages.That's a big no for me.
