Fantastic forge for beginners to experts
This forge is fantastic, after some important notes. First, the only downsides to this forge; like most ceramic insulations, I would definitely seal this forge with refractory cement to protect the insulation (and your lungs). Upon my first forge weld, I found that the flux had eaten a hole in the insulation. A quick coat of refractory cement and the forge is now protected. I would coat all internal surfaces, including the graphite shelf BEFORE you attempt to forge weld. Second; I found that the nozzle on my particular forge was a little large, which led to using fuel faster than on my previous forge. This meant I was getting near forge welding temperatures all the time. Not always a bad thing, but make sure you don't leave your metal in the forge too long, this thing will cook it quite quickly! It reaches around 2200F/1200C in about 10 minutes. It is great for blacksmithing of all sorts and is completely capable of forge welding. The forge comes with some basic accessories to get you started, but I highly advise that you purchase a few other things with this forge to perfect your setup. In no particular order:1) High pressure (0-20 or 0-30psi) Regulator with pressure gauge. This will help dial in your forge and I find it crucial.2)Refractory Cement. I used Hellcote 3000, but you could use any suitable compound.3)Some steel to smith! Now go make something cool!Drew Buckingham

UNSAFE UNTIL MODIFIED. Requires additional supplies
FIRST, THROW OUT THE PTFE TAPE THEY GIVE YOUGet gas-grade tape (yellow) and use that to seal the threads of any joint you assemble. Look up the best way to apply tape if unfamiliar.Once you've completed the burner assembly, use a soapy water solution on each coupling to test for gas leaks. If you see bubbles, redo the coupling with the yellow tape. I had to redo the factory coupling on the valve with the handle (Picture 4) as it was leaking A LOT. Again, make sure you follow proper instructions and double-check everything. You don't want propane going anywhere but into the forge. It could really ruin a lot of people's day if you don't pay enough respect to safety. Picture 3 is the coupling between the regulator and the "trachea" hose.NOW, I HAVE SEEN OTHER FOLKS STICKING THEIR BURNERS TOO FAR INTO THE FORGE. DON'T DO THAT!The end cap on your burner should come up 1/4" to 1/2" above the edge of the ring on the forge (picture 5). If you stick your burner too far in, the end of it will get just as hot as your workpiece. No! Don't!You should also buy a high-pressure propane regulator with a pressure gauge so you can properly control your flame and your fuel mixture without having to rely only on your eye. Tack on $20-30.Now, about the forge itself:It's largely cosmetic, but the Paint on the exterior is not able to withstand the heat and will quickly burn away at the doors. The hinges are absolute garbage, or at least, they're fixed to the forge by means that can only be a cost-saving measure (picture 2). The metal of the forge and the hinges warps in the heat and causes the doors not to close properly, and the hinges are now detaching after the second firing. Not sure how I'll fix it but I imagine it will either be adding screws or replacement with better hinges. The refractory brick on the inside needs a coating. I had some extra satanite lying around so I used that. The top piece has cracked on either side of the burner hole and will need sealing. After some tuning, I was able to get it almost up to 1200C. I shut it down after the doors started peeling off, but I'd wager it could go higher.

Updated! 8/2/2021 Disappointed with Burner quality and packaging
Update 8/2/2021It took a bit of back and forth, but the sellers have come through! After clarifying my concerns, they sent replacement parts that look great. I haven’t gotten the chance to fire with the new burner and nozzle assembly just yet, but I am very happy and impressed with the follow through to make things right. It took a bit of time, especially navigating time zones for communication, but my confidence has been restored.I will say, having used this forge with the inconsistently functional burner for the past month, I have high hopes going forward. Even with the burner giving inconsistent performance, it was achieving some pretty impressive temps. The new one should be even better.Original review:I’ll start by saying I do like the unit. The metal isn’t super heavy gauge, but I can deal with that, especially at the price point. For a beginner like me, it will be a solid tool. My two biggest concerns come from how the items were shipped and the overall quality of the burner. Hoping mine is an anomaly and I’ll be able to get a hold of the seller to work things out.Shipping was quick and I was delighted to receive my forge quickly. While unboxing, I was disappointed to find everything - burner, hoses, gloves, etc - had been shoved into the forge. This caused some noticeable and sizable damage to the insulation. I’m hoping that it won’t impact temps much, and honestly, it’s annoying to get things that are less than new looking out of the box. From there, the burner was a disappointment. As you can see in the pictures, the drill pattern is off and sloppy. While the forge definitely got hot, the flame is not consistent. I quickly disconnected it all as this burner isn’t going to regulate the way I want it to.I’m hoping to hear back from the seller, and if I do, I’ll update!

It's great! But do not use over 2000F with the doors closed.
I really like this unit, and it works great, however after using it for a week to melt metal, the doors warped. The company has great customer service. I learned that you can not use the unit above 2000F with the doors closed for any length of time. It's perfect for heating things up , heat treatment, but not a good choice for smelting. I was hoping It would do both because It can resist 2600° Fahrenheit "(1425° Celsius Approx.)". Customer service is wonderful.I went with this one because of the reviews. When it arrived I was a little shocked with the connection it comes with that attaches to the propane tank. It's useless reason being not because it's flimsily and I would never trust my life on it (which it is), but because you really need a good quality pressure regulator ($20) or it's not going to work. I have no idea why they do not include one with the kit? Once hooked up with the regulator and fired it up for the first time, it was a thing of beauty. It works so well I will most likely buy another. I find with most of things coming from china, they get you almost there, but always include one inoperable but needed accessory , It will be great one day when they include all the parts that work! Yes for the money it's a really good product.
