Update: the seller contacted me to offer a replacement. I'm surprised and impressed by their customer service. A replacement was shipped very quickly and works PERFECTLY: remote and all. The remote turns lights on and off, and the dimmer switches work as expected. The in-line switches on the cord are handy, too, for when I misplace the remote. Fantastic customer service! ================ I bought this to replace a "motion sensor" control for an already-installed set of LED strip lights. The old control had stopped working altogether. I don't know if there's anything wrong with the strip; I was operating it in the meantime by just unplugging it to turn it off. This new unit works, but the remote control does nothing AT ALL. I can turn the LED lights on (or off) by holding down the power button for 1-2 seconds. Anything shorter doesn't work. It's possible there's some issue like the wrong voltage for the strip I have, or some problem with the strip itself... but at this point I'm happy to have an easier way to turn it on or off. A remote would have been nice, but at this price point it's "good enough." The remote looks nice. It was also an Amazon Warehouse buy, so it could just be a defective unit. Wasn't worth my time to troubleshoot further. Good luck! :)

Very good product works perfect

I installed 2 sets of rope lights in 2022 and within a month lost one remote, unfortunately the only thing I don’t like is how they use individual remotes for each strand. I have these under my kitchen cabinets and on one half of the kitchen I would have to unplug in order to turn off and on. I was thinking about replacing the whole set just to have the ease of a remote when I noticed they sold the remote section only. I purchased and set it up. Thank goodness I didn’t want to take a whole strand down and then rehang it, talk about a nightmare. Thank goodness I didn’t have too. Now I have perfectly functioning strands which remotes that change the brightness and timers. It’s awesome. Finally a product that supports replacement parts. Too many products today you have to dispose of something simple goes wrong because they have no replacement parts. I give it 5 stars and so very happy that I could fix it rather than replace the whole thing.

The install was without issue. Great features like day setting, night setting, reading setting. Timer setting too. The remote works through a wooden door as well so cord doesn’t have to show.

Original LED strip installation was too bright for what I wanted. Needed a way control brightness. This item plugs in in-line between the LED strip connector and the standard transformer. Dimming can be done on the unit, or with the included remote control. I have no use for the flashing, strobing and ramping features - but those would maybe use useful for a commercial or party type atmosphere.

I have a camper on my pickup and it came with a knob at the entrance of the truck bed so I would have to get out of bed to adjust the brightness, I decided to order this and the controller works great, I can even turn the lights on from outside of the camper. I'm very satisfied , inexpensive and does exactly what it's supposed to do, I've had it installed since November and haven't had any issues.

I have two of these on my vehicle controlling aftermarket COB LEDs set up as front and back DRLs. For this use, I cut off the “plug-in” dongle ends, stripped the black and red wires and then used butt connectors to wire them into my vehicle (like 5 minutes and $0.25 in supplies). Thankfully, the manual picture shows which end is “in” and “out” (as determined by the button types on the wired controller), as I forgot to mark it before I snipped the ends off. Lol. Many COBs are a bit too bright without a controller to use, especially at night (unless you enjoy regularly meeting your local law enforcement), and the 2 preset dimming features are perfect: the 50% setting is right where your DRL should be at night, and the 100% is perfect for full sunlight. As a bonus, the strobing function is also great for vehicle visibility in emergencies. Got a flat tire recently on the highway and felt a bit more comfortable with the bright LEDs set to strobing to help alert other drivers in addition to my hazards. Was pleasantly surprised to see most drivers moving over into the left lane as they passed.
