Great projector at a great price with great customer service
I was so pleased with this projector when I first got it, that I immediately bought a 2nd one within 3 days. I thought about leaving a glowing review immediately, but decided to wait awhile so that I could get a better sense of its performance. It’s 1080 NATIVE resolution, so it looks great. It was easy to set up right out of the box and the first thing I did was connect it to my wifi so that I could project our vacation pictures straight from the phone… piece of cake.I connected one projector to a Fire Stick and the other one to my gaming console in the same room. I use a Bluetooth speaker with the unit that the Fire Stick is in and it connects every time I turn on the projector without a problem. As with any Bluetooth speaker, there will be a tiny bit of latency, but I don’t notice it at all on the major streaming services, but I do find that it’s noticeable on the free streamers, like Pluto… but, that’s not the projector’s fault. The projection orientation is variable depending on where you want to place it, whether that’s on the ceiling or behind the screen. I found this helpful with 2 projectors aimed at a corner, I was able to reverse the projection on one and make YouTube visuals converge on the corner and look all that much more interesting. One minor problem I encountered is actually a result of the projector being so good that I bought 2 of them. Since they’re both in the same room and I use them at the same time, the remote control operates them both, so it gets frustrating trying to adjust the volume on one and not the other, for example… but that’s not a problem that most people are going to encounter.I did have another issue, though. One of the projectors developed a brown stain on the lens that was impossible to remove, but luckily, the projector comes with a 3 yr warranty and it was replaced immediately and without cost to me. A+In conclusion; it’s a great little projector and it really changed the dynamics of the bedroom. It’s nice to have a 4k video of Natural Wonders playing on one screen while watching TV on the other… or falling asleep to a city skyline or a setting sun on the beach, they’ve really enhanced the atmosphere of the room they’re in… and the cat seems to love it, too! We’ve discovered an entire genre of cat videos together.I’ve even created a folder in my photos album dedicated to some of the fun thing that I’m able to do with the projectors. I use it to show to people how much they’ve changed the dynamics of the room, and let them see how they could do the same, if they wanted to.At the price that I paid, it was cheaper than any other TV in the house, it’s an absolute no-brainer.

Bright, Vivid Colors in a Projector Packed with Features!
Let’s start with the fact that Dr. J 4K projector is an incredible buy; it was less than $150 on Amazon, more than 40% off their standard price (where it still would have been an attractive price). It arrives in high-end packaging, looks very professional. Everything you’ll need is inside the box. And it’s easy to set up, like literally, in five minutes, really fast. Be sure to remove the lens cover; it took a bit to realize that’s what it was (and not a fresnel lens).Configuration takes a bit longer, and you should expect about 15 minutes to explore the menus and try the options. Connecting to WiFi was very straightforward.Screen casting from an iPhone was tricky, but eventually got it to work. HDMI is an easier option.Although we have a large-screen 4K TV in the family room, we got this so we could watch in other locations at home, as well. First (and our main reason) was for movie night in the backyard, which is a lot of fun with summer here. The projector is very bright, with vivid colors that make the video pop from the screen. We use it with the 120” screen that’s included for the yard, and found we could even watch it before sunset, in that 30 minutes of dusk before it was completely black outside. Which reminds me, the contrast is excellent, with blackest of blacks and whitest of whites, really good.Movie night is usually once a week, and we weren’t about to let it go unused the rest of the week. It's also great for playing video games and watching TikToks in the rec room. That’s probably where movie night will be when the weather changes, as well.It includes a decent onboard stereo, but we like our sound really loud, and especially the deep base for all the action movies we watch; connecting to an external sound bar gives the boost you'll need.I recommend this projector. It’s a great value and you’ll quickly wonder who how you ever got by without it.
