Red Devil 4066 Speed Demon 5 Gallon Paint Mixer

I wasn't impress with this mixer at all. The size is great, and red is an awesome color, but that's it. The mixer blew apart the first time I used it to mix some floor leveling compound, which is no harder than drywall mud to mix.It would probably work great for paint, but I wouldn't suggest it for any mud

Was looking for something simply to mix homemade laundry detergent and saw that someone else bought this for the same thing. It does work very well for that. It has to sit for 24 hours after you first make the stuff and then it becomes a fairly heavy gelatinous blob. I make a big batch and stirring the stuff was just more than I could handle after trying egg beaters, spoons taped to my power drill, etc. This takes care of it. I may even use to mix paint some day.

I got this to mix libidinous hydroponic nutrients for multiple 5 gallon buckets. Worked great for that but can’t comment for heavier applications since, for all intent and purposes, I am just mixing water. Great price though and I didn’t have to leave my house to get it.

It was almost exactly what i wanted, i thought it being a hexangonal shaft in cross section would have the quick release and attachment like all of my impact driver bits have. So it is 4 out 5 stars. It will work fine. I am going to grind the end to be for my impact driver. For those users with drill drivers this is fine.Why i prefer to use impact driver? Impact drivers have constant torque whereas drill drivers just have speed and modest but variable torque under load. This is a good product. Well made with good welds. Recommend buying it.

First off let me just say that those of you familiar with the concepts of:A) Buying online andB) ToolsWill know right off the bat that its:A) Very easy to overstate the quality of something online andB) "Heavy duty" and a sub-5 dollar price tag rarely line up in reality (note how every tool at the dollar store is labelled "heavy duty"?)To that end, this mixer works, but is far from heavy duty. In its first use the spot weld from one of the angled/corkscrew looking metal pieces detached from the base. But!- It was $5.- It mixes the viscous solutions I need it to in 8-10L batches (thicker than paint)- It doesn't splash- Its much better than stirring manually.Just keep in mind that if you're going to order one might as well order two. You're still under 10 bucks and won't curse the online ordering gods if it falls apart one day when you're ready to paint.
