K&N stock replacement filter (foam type) has been handling air filtering on my Yamaha FZ16 (2008) for over 3 - 4 years now; I hadn't cleaned it myself but my bike's mechanic cleaned and oiled it (hopefully) for me as I did not have the air filter oil. Off late the motorcycle had been giving symptoms related to air intake (my best guess) and I knew it had been months since the filter had a wash. My search for an affordable yet effective air filter oil led me to Mannol air filter oil and this is my Day 1 experience using it. Air filter washing, drying and oiling: I used running water of medium pressure to wash the air filter and swung it up and down - smash movement to remove excess water and let it air dry for about two hours (naturally and under a fan). Once it was dry enough, I sprayed the air filter's outer side with this oil at moderate pressure - both horizontally and vertically and wiped the excess oil on the edges using a cloth. Performance: Now the motorcycle is breathing freely and produced no firing noises on rapid downshifts or during normal riding which was the case before washing the air filter and oiling it. The oil seems to be working well for now but I'll update this review after a few days of usage in my naturally dusty environment. My only regret is not buying this oil years ago!
