This is just perfect for what I need. I took it out of the box, put in batteries, and it worked without any problem. I especially like that there are only a few large buttons and that makes it easy to use and the size makes it easy to hold. I basically use it to turn the a/c off/off and adjust the temp, nothing more. I would recommend it for anyone who might have problems with their hands or wrists or has mobility issues -- or perhaps doesn't like the more complicated remotes that seem all too common.

I have an LG LWHD1000R AC and the buttons are starting to crap out on the unit. AC works fine but pretty much only the power button works, so I can't change temp, fan speed or mode. I crossed my fingers to see if this ~$16 remote option would be a possible alternative to buying a whole new AC unit and holy b'jesus it works!! One note of advice tho, battery corrosion had ruined the motherboard in a previous remote. I didnt feel the need for my AC for a year or so and didn't think to check that the batteries weren't corroding. This is the first time battery corrosion ruined a device for me so I thought I'd share in case this type of device is more vulnerable.

This was a replacement for the one the dog chewed in.

Wasn’t sure that it was going to work, but it works perfectly. Most of the buttons on my a/c unit don’t work, this is a perfect replacement for the remote that stopped working.

I purchased a lw1814er from home depot. it was a display model and a little beat up. I got a good deal so took a chance. the remote was not with it. I took the unit home and all I could do was get it to turn on by pressing the mode button and it turned on to the energy saver setting, and did cool. and when i wanted it to turn off i had to press the mode button again. after making a few calls to lg service line they convinced me the unit would work with a remote. and it does everything it is suppose to. the keypad on the unit does not. the one thing that will never work will be the reset for the filter, which has to be done on the keypad of the unit. I don't care about that. hope this helps.
