Works great in Linux
Excellent, massively improved sound over the default PC audio built in to the motherboard. Mainly writing this review to say that it worked out-of-the-box with Arch Linux and I tested it with both Pipewire and Pulse. Just plugged in and all the inputs and Line A/B appear as available devices.

Good value and a straight-forward interface
I've had one of these units, which I bought from here, since May 2020. It's been a solid interface and does what you would expect it to. Sound quality is great. It's mostly easy to use, although I did put some labels on the front so I would know where I'm reaching for things like the phantom power switch in the back.My only small complaint is that when I reboot, the device doesn't seem to automatically reconnect. I find that I have to unplug the usb and plug it back in. Then my computer recognizes it and everything is fine. I don't have this issue with any other USB devices on my computer, which leads me to think it has something to do with this device, but I'm not 100% sure either.

Audio interface.
This interface is so easy to use powerful and I bought this second one for the live performances and the other first for my home studio.

Best value
This is probably the best value in USB Audio interfaces. 4 input channels with preamps, and 4 output channels with balanced and unbalanced connections. All at a great price. This is the ideal box for home recording or even just playback.

I bought a UMC202HD then I bought this because it was such a great product
I have been using a UMC202HD which is a two channel version and I needed a second audio interface for a PC in another room so I decided to get the 404HD this time around because I'm so impressed and happy with the product. The quality of sound is ridiculously good considering the price. The build is pretty good, but of course it's not as solid as something costing far more. I can feel the slightest amount of play with the knobs and phones input so I can already tell without opening it that it's directly mounted to the circuit board without any support. I don't expect this to be a problem for me as since I don't tweak the knobs as often as someone running a professional studio.I don't have a dedicated recording studio and my microphones are not in the thousand dollar range, so the benefits of a super expensive interface would have made no difference in my situation. I record at home so the acoustics aren't optimized like a purpose built studio where the differences are perceptible.I use Audacity a lot and because that software can't do multiple interfaces at the same time, so the 404HD gives me more channels so that I can record from multiple microphones which allows me to choose and mix. It also allows me to not have to physically swap inputs and change input settings and levels along with that. I'd rather not wear out the panel connectors either. I don't necessarily regret buying the 202HD, but after buying the 404HD, I think that for the extra money, it is worth having the extra channels if simply for the convenience and future proofing.

First and Now Favorite Brand
This was my first audio interface, recommended by a friend, and it made such an impression on me that it will be my brand of choice. The value was great, not very budget breaking. I did have some initial issues as I tried to find the right driver to work with my daw, probably user error, but once that was worked out everything was great. I use it every day, it only has 4 inputs so I have to switch them out a lot for different instruments. So far it has been very sturdy with all the removing and inserting inputs. Absolutely 0 latency that I have experienced. Will be looking for one with more inputs soon, as I plan to have a second recording station.
