Review: First of I have to say I am new to DMX.I am putting together a DJ system just for personal use and for parties. So if you are a professional I honestly dont know how it will work for you purpose. Now, first off this thing is solid. It feels like it weighs about ten pounds and it is thick metal,not something flimsy you can bend with your fingers. The buttons all work well and have a solid click when pressed. The sliders are smooth and responsive,they are however, the cheapest feeling part of the whole unit. Dont get me wrong, they work extremely well, its just that if I give them a little wiggle side to side they dont feel quite as solid as I would like. I dont think they are extremely low quality, just not the best. I think you are getting a heck of a controller for under a hundred bucks. As far as functions go, everything I have tried worked perfectly. I have a couple flat led par lights a couple spot beams and a couple lasers hooked to it at the moment with more lights on the way.I have been able to easliy work all of the DMX functions of all of my lights and save a few scenes. I havent tried saving any chases yet but the way everything else works I am sure it will do awesome at that as well. One thing I was a little disappointed with is the lack of a built in microphone for sound active mode. Unlike what the seller says in the questions, The RCA jack on the back is an input for a sound active signal. What I do is use the left side of the control room output of my mixer with a 1/4 inch TS to RCA cable. The 1/4 inch TS fits my mixer and the RCA goes to the DMX controller.. By doing this I can use the control room volume control as a sensitivity control for sound active mode. This works even better for me than a built in mic. With some of my fixtures in sound active mode(Without DMX) when I turn the volume up loud enough,It just kind of blurs together without seperation of beats, even if I adjust the sensitivity.I do have an extremly loud system with two 3000 watt amps and 15 inch tops and two 18 inch subs. With this setup , no matter how loud I have it turned up, I can still adjust the input to the DMX controller and get a full sound active effect. Overall I am extremely happy with this controller. The Usb light is kind of cheesy but it works.
