Game changing breast feeding tool .. for creating realistic milk stash !
For anyone who’s exclusively breast feeding , but also need to build a little stash in the refrigerator or freezer , Haakaa is the best and the only tool you need ! It’s been a life saviour and game changer in my breast feeding journey.. I could store good amount of stash just using the haakaa without any extra pumping. That’s reason enough Haakaa must be one of the breast feeding essentials ! Absolutely love it ❤️

Bye bye messy feeds
For a first time mother like me, this was an eye opener. No more messy letdowns from the other side while your baby is happily suckling on one. I used to worry about the nutrients being wasted with the letdown not to mention for a new mother every drop of the liquid gold matters. You can't imagine how much we let go waste every feed or during each expression. The image is the letdown collection from my first time use and not a single drop spilled on me.No assembly required. Just sterilize and follow the clear instructions to use the Haakaa and you are good to go. My only concern is as I was using it for the first time it felt awkward feeding baby as I was conscious and worried that my baby would kick it off. I have used it religiously since my purchase. Stays put because of its amazing suction capability.would appreciate if the company would provide a cover for the Haakaa like Medela does. I had to purchase the cover separately. It can be a deal breaker for some. But the cover makes the collector more efficient and absolutely spill proof. However am happy with this ones efficiency I will not be using for storage anyways only to catch the letdown.

Less Suction power
This works good only when the breast is full.

You don't know that you need this
This product was suggested to me by one of my friends who had done some research on haakaas. I blindly trusted her and ordered it. And for that I am glad. This is a great product to catch the let downs that mess with your clothes. I was using breast pads for that but they become quite stinky after use. As you can see in the picture this is my let down from one breast while I was feeding my baby from other.I read many reviews mentioning poor suction power, but I found the suction to be adequate for the purpose this is intended (it is not a breast pump!).The price is on the higher side, but it is working for me so I am not complaining. Only after ordering this I saw other cheaper options available but I have no idea about them. This is my one and only.

Just ok
It does what it says, catches your let down. But this is not a replacement for your pump. But it’s very easy to carry, very convenient to clean and sterilise

Good for some purposes, Not sure if it'll work for Heavy-duty Pumping
Good product.About the usage, the suction is quite good for my purposes, sometimes it takes a few squeezes for let down to start. But otherwise fine.I use it for 3 situations1. I was asked to make sure baby gets more hind milk then fore milk. So started expressing to get 10 or so ml out first. Kind of time consuming when done by hand. With this, I attach and get it working and within a minute or lesser It pumps out 10 to 30 ml (based on engorgement). Takes no time at all.2. When engorged and in pain. To remove the excess.3. When I'm having random let downs when baby doesn't want to feed. I just hold it in place to collect the letdown.Speaking generally thoughSo far for me, after it suctions out the initial ounce it's difficult to get the suction going. I have to empty out the initial 30 ml and attach it again and only then does it suction out more milk. So I'm not sure how well this will work for exclusive pumping or deliberately pumping to save for later. It might get time consuming.Other points to note1. Literally only a single piece, so easy to travel with and use.2. Generally speaking easy to clean and sterilise.3. So far, no change or reduction in suction power or anything.4. The advantage this has over a manual pump is its hands free. Don't have to physically pump.5. The disadvantage would be that manual pumps can probably pump more and in a efficient manner for more quantity.6. There's a measurement in ml on the pump. Convenient.Rating it 5, since it's extremely suitable for my purposes. Bought it 760 or so. Worth the price at that rate.

Works well but not always
This product works like wonders if your breast is full. If you have already fed your baby, you won't be able to get much out of the same breast. Also, it does not completely empty your boob. You can pump out more milk thru a manual/electric pump after using the Haakaa product. I use it more for emergencies when the breast is full and the baby does not want milk. And it is pretty fast which works fantastically!

A MUST have for every mom!!! A handy little tool to give as a gift for a friend or to yourself.
Baby #3. I used electric and manual pumps for both other kids. I’ve tried (and still have) Medela, Nuk, and Willow electric pumps with traditional and hands free attachments. I’ve also used Lansinoh and Medela manual pumps. All do what they claim to do but none are ideal for a working mom (which I am). With my last baby, in particular, I was horribly bothered by how loud ALL of the pumps are (even the manual pumps) because when I’m pumping, it’s because I’m working (i.e., not with baby); not only is the incredibly loud sound of the pump distracting for me, but it makes others uncomfortable and I refuse to pump in a bathroom; it just seems disempowering to do so. With baby #2, I went to a manual pump so I would have more flexibility and discretion and while I loved these attributes of the manual pump, I found that even they make noise and my hand would get sore having to pump so much ... also, again, I’m pumping because I’m working and, maybe I’m uncoordinated, but I found it hard to pump with one hand and work (write or type) with the other OR to have a conversation with someone while also focusing on pumping (insert awkward suction sounds during conversations which were sometimes rhythmic and sometimes not, LOL). All of these distractions led to me missing or minimizing my work pumping sessions and, ultimately, frustration for me and baby when my supply diminished.I am SO EXCITED to have found this product and I cannot begin to understand why all those apps that promote products for mom and baby don’t include it. This is a MUST HAVE for all mamas and should be in EVERY mama basket at baby showers (it’s ok to have multiple, trust me!!!).I got the 4oz haaka without the stopper because I was leaking all over myself, especially at night. I figured if I could catch at least one oz per session, I’d have 8oz per day but I couldn’t find those milk catching shields I’ve heard about/seen online anywhere locally. When I started looking for them on Amazon, I came across this little gem and thought it looked interesting ... for $12, it cost less than the shields, could catch more, and looked like an alternative to my preferred manual pump. It turned out to be all that and more! Not only did I easily catch the extra ounce per sessions, but I immediately noticed an increase in production. In a week, I have started a significant stash and now catch 1-3 oz per session and have 55oz collected and stored (in just a week).I just started using the haakaa to pump in between night sessions (baby is now sleeping 5-7 hours at night - and my son is only a month old). I believe him getting more hindmilk at each feeding (i.e., from the second breast) is alleviating his gas/upset tummy as well as filling him up completely, which has been stretching his sleep periods. Before the haakaa, he would get too much foremilk too fast then get gassy from all the air he was sucking in at my let down then he would spit up most of his meal when he burped, causing a lot of mess and the need to nurse again shortly thereafter because he was hungry again. It was a frustrating cycle that I’ve suffered through with baby #1 in the past thinking there was no other way; now, I have a tool to help manage it.I use the haakaa to catch my overflow at each nursing session then finish the session by moving baby to the second breast, which, by then, has been relieved of most of the foremilk and allows him to get more of the filling hindmilk. The result is a combination of reduced gas and increased sleep, which has already made life better for both of us!A couple things for moms trying this for the first time:- It IS different than anything you’ve tried before. Be patient with yourself! You’ll get it. Try it during the day at first so you can see what you are doing when your mind is clear and can focus (and awake!!!).- If you want to use it as a catch system during nursing, don’t stress about the suction level, it’s easy to simply squeeze the bottom and attach - that’s enough suction to catch the let down.- If you want it to actually “pump,” then you need to follow the instructions by bending back the top, aligning your nipple with the small neck opening, squeeze the bottom, and attach. I’ve noticed that the release/pumping action actually happens about 45 seconds after attaching it when the bottom is almost fully open; after that happens, squeeze again and wait for the next release. It usually takes me 4 squeezes to completely fill the “4oz” haaka. I also recommend paying attention to the weight of the unit when pumping; as it fills up, you need to monitor the suction and the volume to avoid it falling off OR you squeezing a full haakaa and dumping it out on accident.- The 4oz haaka is NOT 4oz, it’s 100mL, which is 3.3 oz. Personally, I don’t care that the measurements are off, I just care that I’m getting the milk! I use bottles to measure my supply anyway.- Pay attention as your milk supply increases ... you’ll be surprised how fast you can pump or let down 3.5oz and have a mess on your hands when the haakaa itself overflows!!! Because of this, I’m ordering the 5oz/150mL version with the flower stopper. I will still use the 4oz during the day until my supply increases to the point that I need the 5oz all the time. Then I’ll probably get a second 5oz just so I can let the haakaa fully air dry between uses (saves a step of having to towel dry it ... maybe I’m lazy, or maybe I have three kids, or maybe I’m finally getting a handle on this mom thing?).- Tip: I have bottles that I use to pour the milk into after each haaka session; when the bottles get to 4oz, I transfer the milk to bags. This allows me to be sure I have 4oz in each bag and for all my bags to be uniform in quantity, which will make it easier to prepare bottles down the road.- Tip: if you are fortunate enough to get one of these (or use ANY pump) during the early days when you are still producing that beautiful golden colostrum milk, consider freezing THAT milk in 1oz cubes or bags so you can add that liquid gold to your more mature milk down the road ... this will give your baby powerful nutrition at 2+ months old that they normally would not get at that age.- Tip: use the haakaa after nursing on each breast to stimulate additional milk production. You may not get more milk that session, but it tells your body you need to make more - and it will!- You may find that you want to also use a classic electric pump to get that deep release when you are away from baby for longer periods ... be gentle to yourself and don’t put stress on you to do things a certain way. It’s fine to use two (or three or four) different products to make sure you have the support you need. Any method that gets milk to your baby is a good method and any tool that helps you do that is a good tool. Try different things until you find the ones that work best for you.- Tip: enjoy this time with your baby; it doesn’t last long. 💙

Not being used again
I bought this due to misplacing my usual silicone pump. I've used other hakaa products and loved them, this had me so disappointed. The silicone is thick and clearly good quality, the suction is good for milk output and stays in place well. I've rated two stars due to this. Here's my issue - the pain! No matter how I've positioned it, how little suction or how I attached to my breast, it hurt! It's unbearable, I can't use it. I have luckily found the one I misplaced and have been so happy to have it back, it was half the price, gets the same amount of milk and no pain while using it. I won't be using the hakaa again.

Found it extremely painful to use.
I found this product quite painful and made my nipple actually go purple and very sore. Used multiple times with very little output even though i was an oversupplier!Have heard amazing things about it but really disliked.I did use it correctly, followed videos and instructions perfectly but still really really hurt! Can imagine its great when you have a clogged duct though.Found it difficult to keep suction too.I used to pump every 3 hours and had about 14oz of milk in 20 mins everytime i pumped but this pump only got 1oz out in about 15 mins of use.

Excellent
Love it and would recommend it to everyone who breastfeeds. My friend recommended it to me and I'm glad she did. I get the most benefit when using it first thing in the morning when both breasts are engorged (she sleeps through as she's 8 months). Before my supply settled down I would stick on both breasts whilst I got her up etc so I didn't leak all over my feet. Now my supply has settled I just stick it on the side that isn't being fed from and collect the let down. It stays put really well and is easy enough if you need to take it out with you for a long day out and your child has decided they would rather feed from a bottle than you....

Worth a try !
Unless your established at Breast feeding don’t expect a great success! I think this works best as a let down collection device while feeding baby on the other breast collect on the other side with this. I think for some women it would work well , but I would say don’t depend on this option as a way to feed baby , a back up maybe or aid but other pumps ( electric ) are much better !
