After years of battling IBS I bought the digestive enzymes, doubting they would actually help. But they couldn't hurt, right? I did the FODMAP diet for years with minimal relief. And the enzymes did come with a disclaimer that they didn't work for everyone so I've waited two months to write a review. I've faithfully taken them with every meal. It's been a couple of weeks now since I've had a bad bout of IBS. Last Saturday I ate out and had a Chinese dish with a garlic ginger sauce! It's been five days and I've had no issues. I am somewhat surviving SIBO and this specific brand of digestive enzymes has been extremely helpful. While I would not run out and down a huge plate of onion rings, I can tolerate having a small serving of pizza, flavored mashed potatoes or even non dairy creamer and coffee. It has stopped most of the gurgling and gas and stops the bloat from creeping in. I usually take just one pill but if Im eating something a little more towards the higher fat/sugar/gluten etc I take two, just as a precaution. I was very, very sick when I first started taking these, at the absolute worst part of my journey so far and I understand the mental mind games that start where you are having to eat because its a life requirement, but knowing it literally causes pain and agony so you try not to eat, or maybe stop eating altogether. Every meal becomes a battle. This product helped me to fight harder and break that mental pitfall. Im not saying its a miracle product. Im saying it was a critical part of long term recovery for me and you should try for yourself and see. I tried many other brand digestive enzymes but this one has the fodmap stuff targeting those food groups and it does that very well.

Overall I recommend using this product if you have digestion issues especially with fodmaps basically any food that contains onion or garlic. I try to limit how often I eat products that contain onion and/or garlic but when I do eat something that does contain onion and/or garlic I take the FODMAP digestive enzyme 10-15 minutes before hand and I have found that I don’t get an upset stomach after I have eaten the food that contains onion and/or garlic. I am glad this product exists because now I am able to eat food I previously couldn’t due to my sensitive digestive system. Thank you Casa de Sante for your product, an appreciative customer. As we age it seems like more and more foods are hard to tolerate. This enzyme has allowed me to eat Brussels sprouts, beans and many other foods I have not been able to eat for years. You just take one with your first bite of food. It is not expensive, $25. It has actually changed my life for the better.

I went gluten-free approximately 18 years ago - not because I was having digestion issues, or any abdominal pain when consuming it, but because it presented in moodiness (brain inflammation). That being said, I could consume products with gluten, and perhaps only notice a subtle change in mood, or maybe some inflammation in my knees a day or two later, but no abdominal discomfort. I have tried this product several times (when gluten was unavoidable) and I wanted to offset it. Each and every time I used this product, I have had excruciating abdominal pains within a couple hours. I initially attributed it to the actual gluten consumption, but then I had to remind myself that that’s not normally how my body reacts to gluten. For example, accidentally eating waffles/cookies/breads that I mistakenly thought were GF and had zero negative digestive response to. Sadly, the only time I have abdominal pain, is when I take this product (even with lesser exposure or consumption of gluten). I realize this seems completely counterintuitive, but it has happened so often, I’ve not been able to come to any other conclusion. I then tried to attribute the abdominal discomfort to maybe it being that my body just doesn’t do well to enzymes, but I DO take other enzymes when eating hard to digest foods, like grains, beans, red meat, etc. and those other enzymes work just fine and are actually very helpful with my digestion. I’m very perplexed by my body’s reaction to these enzymes, but they are definitely a no go for me. I am so disappointed, because I really, really wanted this product to work for me.

I have been taking this for 2 or 3 years, and it has been very helpful. I can now digest small amounts of garlic without digestive problems. i can also eat canned black beans without a problem. Have you ever noticed how when you start to get better you forget to take what is helping you? True of these. When my stomach starts to hurt after a suspect food, I take one, and it is often what relieves the pain. Would be better if I still took it before every meal, but I tend to get forgetful.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Didn't really help me. Doesn't cover all FODMAPS.

I can finally eat my FODMAPS. Still have to not over-do it, but I’m so happy I found something that finally works.
