Neato Robotics Neato Botvac D6 Wi-Fi Connected Robot Vacuum With Room Mapping

Can't use features locally on computer/tablet (need connected app and password to network).Room detection sometimes awful: as soon as you move something in room, might say that based as been moved so can't use floor plan and it returns to base without starting. Should either start cleaning and get more reference points over first minute before saying there's an error, or the option to identify the walls on floor plan so robot only looks at those and knows other obstacles might move (should actually remove obstacles from floor plan to make sure the robot doesn't skip some floor space where there used to be something or screw up plan recognition: make good use of radar+floor plan to clean everything without running into everything or refusing to clean).Got tired and told robot to do new floor plan. After 30 seconds, stops and says "this floor plan is too similar": Can't recognize to clean, but can't make new plan because then it recognizes...Also, no option to move the base on floor plan to say "I just switched rooms, but keep same plan" (robot could start and adjust real location of base depending on wall distances).Other usability issues like those. If they don't upgrade the software, you are better off with standard vacuum robot (or one with camera if you don't mind the huge risk to privacy).Edge cleaning can be very deficient (ex.: turns around table leg at an inch away from side brush)(would be 7/10 if not limited to 5 stars system; but 3/5 could be correct if you pay full price)

I was really looking forward to trying this vac, but after a day of battery charging it didn't start. Call to the tech support has not resolved the problem and I was advised to return the device.

I've had my Neato for 4 years. Yes, I had a wheel issue- they replaced it under warranty. Overall, this vacuum is powerful and my Stanley Steemer guys think Rosie is great- they say that using her will increase the life of my carpets dramatically. I accidentally bought a non-Neato brush on Amazon- beware, buyers will do anything to get you to buy their aftermarket junk with their deceptive descriptions...it ruined her brush drive gear by being a hair shorter than the the Neato brush, and rounded the gear. It's an easy fix with Yourtube. This vacuum can do either whole floor plan or a 13X13 spot clean. I have mine set to vacuum at 2 am- she gets out there, does her thing and when she's done she sends me a aerial view map of my house showing where she vacuumed, how many sq ft and how many minutes it took. If she does get stuck somewhere, she sends me a message with the location. I won't buy any other brand but Neato. But make certain that you buy it from a reputable seller or from Neato, and then make sure you buy only genuine Neato brushes ( I use knockoff filters sometimes and they work adequately, probably not nearly as good as Neato filters) I blow my dustbin out with our compressor. Other vacuums promise the sun and the moon, but Neato won against Roomba for best robot vacuum!

It took 10 attempts to get it connected to my wifi. It kept erroroing out at various stages which forced a reboot of the vacuum and the phone before you could make another attempt. When I finally somehow got it to connect by doing the same thing that failed every other time, it worked pretty well. But then after two weeks it lost connection and nothing I could do could get it to connect again. After 2 days of fighting this thing to get connected, restring device, deleting and reinstalling app, etc., I am done fighting with this thing and it's going in the trash. Unfortunately it is beyond my return window so I can't get my money back. Stay away from this brand is my recommendation.
