One of the best portable monitors around, but a bit pricey
I purchased this monitor when there was one 1 review, so I have been using mine for a few month now.2 things that I feel somewhat mediocre1) the price. The cost of this monitor can buy a good desktop monitor. Over the past few months, I have not seen any deal/discount on this unit.2) the touchscreen. Not to say it does work or something wrong with the monitor. It's just not as useful as I thought it would have been. I think this is due to my particular use case and the way Macs are programmed to utilize the touch functionality.3) ok, I lied. Maybe there is a third thing can be bothersome. The screen is reflective, not matt finish. I didn't like it at first, but I think it's needed for the touchscreen. Now to point out what I like about this monitor and respond to some of the negative aspects1) The picture quality is definitely the best comparing to many cheaper ones that I have tried, even some the slightly more expensive ones. The color accuracy is much better and coming close to MacBook Pro's monitor.2) 17in size with 1080P resolution seems to be a good combination for everything I do, movies and light gaming. Most of time, I use it for news, technical data display, and some web browsing.3) The USB C port can be used for both power and data at the same time. Just as a general information, only 1 out of 2 USB C ports can be used for data, the HDMI port is regular sized not the mini or micro HDMI on some of the other monitors4) touch screen does work with my Macs (2019 MBP13 with intel i5 and 2020 m1 Mac Mini) out of box without any need for driver installation. However, I've never tried using a stylus or trying to write on the screen.Additionally, there is no VESA mount like others have said. Not an issue for me, but can be a factor depending on the use case. Finally, I really do like this monitor and wish to put in a good word along with some hopefully useful info for those who's on the fence. No regrets on the purchase, but I did hope it could cost a little less.

WOW! Better than expected!
The photo shows the SideTrak connected and powered by my Surface Pro 7 with a single USB-C cable, running on the Surface Pro's battery. The monitor will also connect through the Surface Pro 2 dock monitor port. The image on the SideTrak is the pop-up display adjustment which shows how easy it is to adjust the display, just drag your finger to move the sliders. The stand is super-simple to use, just flip the protective front cover up 180º and the stand is open!As soon as I saw how great this display looks, I ordered a second one. I do lots of Autocad work, so having the extra monitors is mandatory as far as I'm concerned.I'm going to save the rigid foam packing for travel, I'm sure I can fit both monitors into one box.

Skip the touchscreen, keep the 4K display
First, the good: picture quality was great. Sharp and bright.Second, the bad: touchscreen needs major improvement. I had intended to use the Sidetrak monitor largely for note taking while viewing on my other monitors. The idea of a portable and quality touchscreen seemed like a great idea, but the touchscreen simply was not responsive enough.I purchased Amazon’s highest rated capacitive stylus and writing with it on the Sidetrak’s screen was an exercise in futility. If you write in randomly spaced dashed line, it would be great, but if you write in any language known to man, forget about it. I can give credit that the screen generally responded to pokes and touches, so if you’re looking for a mouse substitute, the product would work well.Thinking the problem could be my stylus, I did call Sidetrak’s customer service number and left a message (close at 4:00 eastern) requesting to know which stylus they would recommend. Yet to hear back after more than a week despite outgoing voicemail promising a reply in less than 24 hours.Ultimately returned the product.
