We found that it was because the joints of the blades were really stiff. It was a tad of a struggle to get them to open & close. After the blister appeared, we decided to oil the joints of the blade with WD40. Made a whole big difference after. The loops of the scissors, made of hard plastic, are also too large for our hand size, so it feels like it's coming off as we are cutting & keeps rubbing against the skin.
