Unlike any other book I've read
I've been searching for answers for a long time and the pandemic has made me think even more about what life is all about at a deeper level. The book is challenging in parts, which I expected as it covers a huge array of relevant subjects. But it delivers on it's title. I was kicking myself throughout the read because I felt like I should have figured out some of the revelations in advance, but I can see how easy it is to go with what we intuitively think is true without questioning what's really going on.

Philosophy backed by Scientific insights!
For anyone who needs strong evidence for bold claims, this is the book for you. The conclusions in this book are supported by scientific research, so there are very few leaps of faith necessary. There are many pseudo-scientific books on philosophy, which may provide some light food for thought, but lack much in terms of supporting evidence. This book however provides plenty, so you come away feeling more convinced with the ideas that are presented.Recommended reading for anyone looking for a deeper understanding on the true nature of reality!

Confirms what many know about mental health disorders and higher awareness
This is a brilliant, must read book! Everyone needs to read it. Very timely and confirms what many of us already know and believe with sound justifications. It is not the self that is out of sync, it is our alignment with the universe and what we are made to believe we need to be and do to exist happily in the modern capitalist world. This book is a call to change our perception of how things really are and should be to save our sanity.

Go out and get the "Meaning of Life" NOW!!
I have to jump in here to give the book "The Meaning of Life" a 5 star review from what I've read so far. Delving into the often baffling fundamentals of the meaning of life and the universal mind, Matthew Forrest has written an extremely powerful, well rounded and thoroughly detailed in depth research of his knowledge and first person experience of reality that will definitely resonate with everyone, even at the most basic level. There is no better way to understand and make sense of what is, by seeing what is not and with Matthew's early training in the sciences, he is able to see what mainstream science, including medical science misses. Many books have been written over the years to help us understand ourselves and the world around us, but none that include the wide variety and seamlessly in depth themes that Matthew connects with in an easy to grasp and comprehensible way. These themes are skillfully handled and fully absorbing, covering a vast area of "real life" topics and the important portrayal of the difficulties we face that cause us to question the meaning of life including trauma and mood disorders. Matthew also takes you into the realms of beauty, creativity, synchronicity, infinite possibilities, space time and the innate intelligence that resides in and around us all. A refreshing and powerful must read of the dream like nature of reality where anything can happen, by an extremely gifted mind, writer and creator. Matthew himself is extremely likeable, inspiring, approachable and down to earth and I can't recommend his book enough..it's a go out and get it NOW plus from me so far! :)

Incredible book. You must read this.
Just listened to the intro and halfway way through the 2nd chapter of the audiobook edit. This author's work is nothing short of genius. The way he holds the middle ground with his thoughts and words is impeccable. The work will most definitely cause a massive stir with the singlular / stubborn of minds, and I feel the work will definitely win more minds than losing them. M Forrest's thoughts are beyond science and just shy of full god 'realm' because only the true God/Mind/Universal Consciousness ie creator of the 'physical' realm would actually know the origin of life, including the blueprints. Great work.

A hand extended from across Einstein's bridge...
This book made me think critically about the Big questions that we face as human beings. I had a mystical experience at 19 that had an immediate life-changing and lasting effect on me, and it caused me to become a diligent seeker for answers in all areas of life. I soon after got a copy of Darwin's Origin of Species because I was newly fascinated with the mechanisms behind biology and its progress. M.H. Forrest has provided profound insights into evolution and natural selection in this well researched and written book, and his ideas are both refreshing and intuitive while appealing to high-level reason. His exploration of quantum mechanics, and more importantly, the implications of it, provide tantalizing revelations into the nature of existence, consciousness, and intelligence. His conclusions are not just ones I predominantly agree with, but they seem to provide a framework that matches my experience of ego-loss and the understandings I took away from it. I feel strongly that this book and what it proposes is important. The challenge is in the unfamiliarity with concepts that lie outside of our perceived material reality and how they call into question our very notions of personal identity. This is a truly ambitious but comprehensible attempt to account for and unify aspects of humans/the universe yet undiscovered/unacknowledged, and it's respectable in that it is humble enough to recognize the need for this in science and for the education of all people. The goal is nothing less than our eventual and hopefully inevitable collective awakening in/through consciousness. The author further explores many pivotal topics on life such as free will, sexuality, creativity, metaphysics, and conspiracies, and provides a perspective on them that shows the importance of how action and attitude play vital roles in the happiness of individuals and the bigger picture in a world where we are all fundamentally and intimately connected. I did not seek this book, but it found me, and the amount of synchronicity I experienced while reading it is remarkable. For that reason I feel it has not just spoken to my heart and intellect, but appealed to my higher self. I thoroughly believe we are in the midst of a gradual but accelerating paradigm shift that will not only more closely reconcile the gap between science and spirituality, but usher a new dawn for the human condition and potential as infinite intelligence and consciousness continue in a potentially eternal discovery of truth and MEANING. I give this book the highest recommendation for anyone who cares about life and living and the purposes behind the experience of it.

The Meaning of Life title says It all
It never seemed realistic for someone to get to know It all (in terms of how reality works and its "construction" not so much all the mathematics that form the physical realm), but it seems now "we" do, and it's detailed coherently in this book.It is not as if the writer got to the truth alone as it is the minds of many greats that presented him with the jigsaw pieces. Still no easy task in the assembly, but essentially much of the work was done. Great job.

Please add a headline....ok, "Hear Ye Hear Ye!
This book is fantastic! I gave it 5 stars. Why? The downside (it was a big challenge to read) was on my end. Among other things, I've struggled to process written words since my traumatic brain injury and the urge to speed read through it was immense. I had to force myself, several times, to slow down because my brain went into overload. I didn't want to risk having a seizure, but it was very exciting to find someone had identified/organized or helped me to make sense of the unknown gems that I discovered during my near death experiences. “The Meaning of Life – When the Black Dog Is Barking up the Right Tree” is a treasure! I wanted to stop and ponder some of the author's ideas, when I read it online, but decided to save that for another time. After, I bought the hard copy. Maybe, I'm creepy...I wanted to hold that book in my hands for the second reading, which I'm in the process of. Seems so strange...finding the points I stop to ponder are manifesting in my external world. Synchronicity?

Best book in years! Life changing
Having a degree in biotechnology, I was keen to see how the book would handle the subjects I already have expertise in. I was astonished at how detailed and coherent it all is. The writer makes a bold claim that it is effectively a theory of everything. It uses abductive reasoning (the same as doctors use to diagnose based on pattern recognition/symptoms) with countless lines of converging evidence to show how our reality is constructed and operates. It is faultless logic and I was convinced by the end that he has got it right. It points out from the start how fallible our sense perception and mind made model is but goes on to show what can still be relied upon as truth regardless.Highly recommended for anyone wanting to see reality de-coded

The real deal - unification of science and spirituality
I never needed selling on spirituality as I've had many first person experiences and as a pilot I'm pretty sharp on science also. But what the book does is act as a reality check. It is relentless in the evidence it presents and it starts with what is intuitive and moves on to how things really work despite intuition.Although mainstream science is shifting, it is slow. And this is basically showing in advance what science will admit soon enough. It is a great book for anyone who has made science their "god" and are influenced by scientism. But mostly its great for those who are curious about the meaning of life in its deepest sense.
