G3017 Solar Water Fountain Kit

It broke, so did the first one. I’m not buying anymore!!

Easy to put together, looked great at first, however, This item stopped working within two weeks. I did not send it back because I had already thrown out the box and the trash was picked up. This item soon followed.

I bought this to use in my 20" diameter flat-plastic birdbath. It's tiny, so it takes up very little space, and has suction cups (that sometimes work - maybe the surfaces need regular cleanings) on its bottom. The idea is to create moving water, as moving water is supposedly more attractive to birds than water that is still. Also, moving water helps prevent mosquitoes from laying eggs on it. I use this without any of the accessory heads, which do put up a nice spray, but the spray pattern is too tall and wide for the 20" bath. So I just let it burble up, and in bright sunshine it will shoot up nearly three inches, which is fine for my application. I am very pleased that it will at least provide some "shooting" on cloudy days, and even toward dusk. What I was not happy about is that mine was obviously used. Out of maybe twenty or so purchases I've made on Amazon, this is the third time I've received something from Amazon that was used. (One was a nice wristwatch, and something like that has to be brand new for me to want to keep.) In the two instances where I kept the items (because they did work out of the box), Amazon was kind enough to give me a credit against the purchases.

We plugged the motor into a tube that has the water flow downward out of a decorative water pump.It works as long as the sun hits directly on the panel. We hid the wire with rocks and it looks nice.Need to periodically change the water and get all sediment out of the filter on the side of the little motor.It is a little upkeep you need to do to have it working properly, We added a little bleach to the the water to help keep it clear.Do not think it will spurt up like the photo shows. It is not that strong.

Once again I learned the lesson...don't buy any product from China. I've had nothing but poor products. I finally opened the package to set up the fountain. I went exactly by the instructions and even used distilled water. I was excited when, as soon as I put the panel in the sun, the fountain pulsed out a jet of water. Unfortunately, that was it. It shut down and the pump no longer comes on. Even as I write, the panel is still in the direct sunlight ( our temp is 90 here) and nothing.I will come back on if anything improves...but it doesn't look good.***update***Cleaned everything again, including pulling out white spindle and the thing works now! If you block the sun, it stops, or if the sun moves, it stops. However, this is to be expected since there is no battery to store power. All in all, if this continues to work with a little maintenance, I think it's pretty good.

This is my third solar fountain kit. My first was from solarific and I was very happy with it. Replaced it due to algae build up. Nothing wrong with the product. Second one lasted very short time and chose to buy a new Solarific since I had been so happy with the first one. It doesn't work at all. Even in intense sunlight there is no response. All packaging has been disposed so not returning it. Trash can is next stop. Very disappointed.

Open the box and the device worked for 1 hr and now doesn't do anything! Kids were so disappointed as it was a gift to their garden pond. For the price, this kind of quality is not acceptable.

Wish I knew ahead of time that this unit does not hold a charge.......it must be in direct sun at all times in order to work and is not very powerful. :(
