The flees will die
The fleas die. All of them. All at once. Then they fall off wherever, almost all at once. Also, monitor your pets for two hours following the pill because it seems to give them a burst of energy, even our old dog was spunky. And very importantly, offer them plenty of water this makes them VERY thirsty. Now understand it kills adult fleas not the eggs, so we gave our dog one, waited three days then another pill. I have never seen anything work this well.

It took about two days / two pills
Infested with fleas for four hours after taking the tablet and then, as advertised, they all stopped moving. I did notice the side-effect of increased itchiness as the dog scratched much more, but not a big deal given the problem. It took about two days / two pills to catch them all around the house. I postponed using repellent and used her as live bait on the second day. After feeding her a pill, we went spring cleaning in each room with the dog leashed to me, trying to activate the dormant fleas laying in the carpet, furniture, etc. Worked great!I'd also recommend Sentinel long-term to prevent flea eggs from hatching, Precor for spraying indoor floors and furniture after an infestation (spring clean each room before applying), and Cyonara for spraying outdoors areas. This combination worked great for me.

Instant (but temporary) flea relief
Our 14 year old doggie darling has been savaged by fleas lately, but using Capstar along with his usual monthly Advantage, and daily vacuuming/changing his bedding, we have been victorious! Our vet gave us one Capstar at the 'discounted' price of $15 recently when our dog was in for minor surgery, telling us that these aren't available to buy in stores. Psh, said I, and hopped onto Amazon immediately upon arriving home again. I paid $25 for SIX of these magic flea-killers. I have an awesome pill grinder/crusher that I also bought from Amazon for a few bucks; I grind up the Capstar and mix it in a small amount of plain yogurt or oatmeal, and down the hatch it goes. He has not had any side effects so far as we can tell. We will never again be without these. It is important that people read the instructions though - our vet didn't tell us that Capstar only works for 24 hours, nor did our one pill come with instructions, so I didn't know until I went looking to buy more that by itself it is a temporary fix only. The only only way to truly rid your home and dog from the flea pestilence is combining Capstar for immediate relief with Advantage/Frontline to kill larva/eggs, and hardcore vacuuming/washing anything your dog has had contact with.

Very helpful while clearing house and yard of fleas
These pills have been very helpful during the period when we're trying to clear our home of fleas. My dog has developed an allergy to fleas, and gets dermatitis. It's hard to get rid of every flea in the house and outside, because a new batch of them will bloom and you have to keep spraying and vacuuming, etc., and if you take your dog socializing then you can bring home more fleas.(They are especially bad in our area this year - no freezes for the past couple years.) The dog also has an expensive Seresto flea collar but it's not perfect. With the Capstar we've got a multi-front approach. We can kill the ones that are on her, driving her crazy, and she calms down for a few days and stops chewing.

Not working
Found fleas on my dog 2 weeks ago and used frontlineplus. She stopped scratching herself right away. But it bothers me, so I decided to buy an oral medication just to enforce the result. Unfortunately, 2 days after she took Novartis I started noticing she scratching again. I did not believe it was flea, because her frontline plus was still in effect (shall last a month), and she has the Novartis. However, today I found flea on her again. So regardless of the double efforts, the flea problem remains on my dog. I know for a fact that this medication does not work for my dog. Frontline may not be effective too after 2 weeks. I will have to search for better solutions.

Works better than anything else!
I keep this on hand at all times! You never know when your fur babies may catch a stray flea when they're out to potty or at the park. It only kills adult fleas. You can give this to them as much as you need to... instead of waiting 30 days or more. You should only dose them once per day though. It's peak effectiveness is 4 - 6 hours so if you see your fur baby scratching hours after you've given this DON'T PANIC it's the flea die off. The flea will bite as its dying. We have 4 dogs. Our husky lives in the backyard most of the time. We have a mini Schnauzer, daschaund and Schnau-Tzu (puppy) who all live inside. When I treat one fur baby I treat EVERYONE. I quarter this size (over 25 lbs) up for the smaller dogs & give our husky a whole one. I've found the best way to give these is the find a treat that you can push the little pill inside of. When I don't have a soft treat I will use cheese. My boys don't even hesitate on taking it and neither does our husky girl. For the record it is cheaper to purchase Capstar here than it is at PetSmart! Highly recommended.

Works great, affordable
This stuff works. My local shelter uses this (when available, donated) to help dogs who come in with flea infestations. That is how I learned about this product. It is NOT a preventative, it only kills the fleas on the dog at the time. The great thing about it, is it is for dogs over 25 lbs. So one package can serve many dogs of varying sizes (above 25 lbs). They do have one for dogs (and cats) under 25 lbs as well. You also only need one tablet, and it works within four hours. The package comes with six tablets, so you can use on other dogs or save for another infestation that may pop up. After the fleas are dead, simply bathe the dog to remove dead fleas. Also, it is a good idea to apply some itch cream to the dog to help ease itching of flea bites. Be careful around any sort of open wounds though.Overall, great product and highly recommend for those with dogs suffering from flea infestations. I do also recommend starting a preventative after getting rid of the fleas. K9 Advantix works very well, and is reasonably priced.
